What about these boats? Is there a story?

Very interesting. I just went back and searched the site. It has been "cussed and discussed" quite a bit. Anyone familiar with a CD been out in a Cape Cruiser yet to offer any opinions? It does look like they built with an eye on what people were saying about CD's--which makes sense. As a...

What about these boats? Is there a story?

I just ran into this website: www.capecruiserboats.com. What's up with this? They are slightly stretched versions of CD 22's and 25's, it looks like, and they describe themselves as extensions of Toland designs. They are out of Kent, WA. I'm curious about the lack of apparent buzz they've...

    Let's talk price a bit

No, not a bigger boat, just paring down to go bi-coastal for a bit. Our son and daughter-in-law are in the family way, and we're figuring out how we can get out to Port Townsend more often , where they are, so we can be in the way too. :smilep. Plus, I want a Miata (like Ken, over at C-Dogs)...

    Let's talk price a bit

Appreciate the feedback so far, and yes, we do entertain reasonable offers--I'll point prospective buyers to this thread because of the very useful information contained. I'm not greedy, but I'm also not in a hurry (I'll probably be out with FEMA for a bit over the next month or so anyway)...

    Let's talk price a bit

Looking for some help here. On the one hand, I hate to sell "Snowdon" any time real soon. On the other hand, she deserves to be out more than the occasional afternoon putter. As folks may have noticed, I priced her out at $36,000 when I put her on the market here a few weeks ago. It's less...

    Captain License blog

Attaboy, Ken-- Finishing almost anything out is good, in and of itself. Finishing something you want is good. Finishing something hard is good. Keeping on pushing at new things is real good. Having fun at it is better. Enjoy. Bruce Holly

    C-Dory on a boat lift

Correction---our longitudinal supports are more like 2x 8 's. Sorry. My eyes are two inches short. Bruce :embarrased

    C-Dory on a boat lift

If your supports on the lift are as far apart as the supports in that picture, I think I'd be worried about the stress on the hull over time, however well built the boat. We've kept "Snowdon" on a lift for months at a time, summer and winter, supported by longitudinal bunks about 2 1/2 to 3 feet...
