CDDF Makes it hard to make time on the road.

I used to have a Ural sidecar rig. Just TRY for a quick fill-up, NOT going to happen!

    $166k for a new Tomcat

Capt. Mac, that is true of any model or brand of boat. But if nobody bought new ones then there wouldn't be any used ones! The new boat buyers keep the entire industry alive, and we should thank them. So if you can afford it, indulge!

Observations on my non C-Dory Trawler

Very pretty boat, David. Does it have any sort of keel? Wondering how it tracks at low speed?

    $166k for a new Tomcat

It's in the same general range as a Ranger Tug 25 Outboard with single 250HP, or a Rosborough RF-246, depending upon how it is powered and equipped. New boats are pricey!

    Suzuki vs E-tec

David, Evinrude has recently done just that, released a G2 3-cylinder at 115, 140, and 150hp. I have no experience with these motors but do a search and you will find lots of online discussion about the new series.

Things to see around Venice Florida

If you find yourself in St. Armand circle, by all means go to the Columbia restaurant. We were served the two best crab dishes of my experience, both featuring fresh Stone Crab. One chilled with lemon and drawn butter and the other warm with Cajun spices. I still can't decide which one I liked...

Good stuff to consider in 2020

    I particularly liked----" If you’ve got a boat for recreating you’ve won life’s lottery, ---". That's a good perspective.

    Welcome to the C-Brats!

Welcome Glenn & Mysha! We are also fans of the C-25 but must say that if towing across country you should plan on a vehicle rated for towing 8K to 10K pounds, or better. That will still be better than towing Ranger Tugs or any trawler, but it's a good bit more than the factory's optimistic...

    Odd-ball C-dory

A 2017 Center Console? Did not think that current ownership was building such a creature.

    I can’t look away...

Oh I don't think that anyone here is saying that they should not have been allowed to go. Yes, it's their lives and their decisions, they are free to do as they wish. Just as we are free to criticize their decision, and the trend to do stupid dangerous stunts for the sake of youtube fame and...

Interesting read on restoring an old, wooden boat

He is a good writer who kept me reading much more than I had intended. He surely had my sympathy.

    I can’t look away...

I can't say that I admire this sort of thing, as success or disaster is mostly a matter of luck, and success can inspire others to attempt the same. There is no reason for such a voyage.

Happiest day of a boat owner’s life

I agree. The day I bought my boat was stressful and the day that I took delivery a bit terrifying! First trip has it's stressful moments, too. It was after we got more used to everything and grew in confidence that the experiences became much better. I would say that my/our best day was a day...

CD19 Angler suitable for day cruising with 4 people

I think that the 22 Angler would be better without the rear bulkhead, just have a drop canvas, and agree that would be a better option than the 19 for a four person dayboat. But I'm a warm water boater!
