fuel Vents on the 22 Cruiser, maybe others.

Maybe the 25 is different than the 22 and maybe the original tanks are installed right but as far as collecting moisture, every time you fill the tanks that line has quite a bit of air flow through it. With an upper loop, there is no place for moisture to sit, it either goes overboard or in the...

    Fuel Vents

You might check my post under (All C Dorys all the time) about the fuel vents on at least one of the models of Dorys. Mine happens to be a 22 Cruiser.

fuel Vents on the 22 Cruiser, maybe others.

Fuel Vents???I read the other day about one of the Brats checking his fuel vents and found the vent hole pointed forward and no loop in the line. SO,, I thought I better at least check mine just in case, thinking no boat builder would install a tank vent that way more than once... Well mine must...

  5. Lori said, there is no place to just put something on this boat without setting it on the table, counter, dash, or seat... So I installed a 6 x 60 inch Port shelf trimmed in teak above the table for just stuff,,,and it already is filling up with just stuff..

    Kim Christine moves up!

Congratulations Patrick & Kim! on the new boat. Although I haven't officially met you or Kim, we did pass while we were going in and you were hauling out in Anacortes awhile back during crab season opening. I considered a 25 but settled on the 22 and with all the work (& expense) I have put...

  10. Finished the box and installed it to make sure it still fit after assembly, and the thing actually sets in the opening pretty good. Not real professional quality built and the color will never match , but it should work for what I am using it for just the same. Whacked out a couple scrap pieces into a hinge to see what they would look like for pivoting it forward should I ever need the engine to be tilted completely up. Not sure if I will just make them or buy a couple Perks or something like them. They are easy to make and will probably pass with a push so might go ahead and cut a couple out of the left over scraps. That way if the wife gives them one of her \"I\'m not sure about these\" looks, I can just toss them and haven\'t lost anything but time.

New home made Starboard fish box/hold almost ready

Went down to Kent Interstate Plastics and picked up a 52 x 96 sheet of 1/2 Starboard a couple days ago and it is gradually turning into a fish hold for the Lori L. Just have the hinges to make and it is done. It added exactly 33 pounds to the stern, which I really didn't need, but I think the...

    Fuel Tank Sending Units

Well Charlie, sorry I haven't been on here lately to answer your question about the selector,,,(boat stuff going on ya know) It does have a selector.. I get your drift about knowing you have enough fuel to get where you are going, but I am 72 years old, commercial fished Alaska for 11 years...

    Fuel Tank Sending Units

Just replaced the port sending unit on the Lori-L today. I have a split 58 gallon aluminum tank, 29 gallons per side. I thought I had ran out of fuel while crabbing over on one of the local islands just a few miles from the launch. I actually did run out on the stbrd. tank and the port gauge...

  16. The two side pieces that have the screws left in them cannot be welded. 8x32 screws tapped into the end plates work great for holding them in place. They keep the rode from slipping down between the drum and sides in case you overfill the drum. Holds 300 ft. of 3/8 rode and chain.

  17. Winch half done. The winch motor is just a 2000 lb cheapy winch that you can pick up on Ebay or locally. Cut the winch drum in half and remove the nylon bushing from the steel plate that supports the outer part of the drum. Cut a hole the bushing will tightly fit into in the port side of the shell. When you mount the motor on the other side, it has the bushing in it already. Remove the 4 small screws from the winch and drill the holes out to 1/4 for the bolts that will hold the motor on.

    I got a C-Dory!

We sound like we could be twins(as far as the C-Brats site goes.) I too have just bought a 22 Cruiser. I did a lot of sole searching and reading on the Brat site before I made the purchase. I have only had it out a couple times now and also did a lot of (fix things the way it needs to be)...

New aluminum anchor winch just finished building

I do the same thing as you with the plastic spools Roger. I use electric wire spools, and if you get the right ones, they work pretty good. I found a size that holds 400 feet of 5/16 lead line. I use all lead line and they are not that heavy. I could see why you would only want to use a few feet...
