    Mae-C: Storm Dog's adventure

I made it to wacca watchee marina a couple hours ago. flew through most of Cape fear river, the last couple miles kicking up its heals, but made it with reduced speed. Stopped at Barefoot Landing for lunch and a walk about, decent tacos and walked some of their extensive little shop area...

    Mae-C: Storm Dog's adventure

3 Jun 20, Still at Carolina Beach NC. Waiting for the winds to die down or change direction. I'm unable to get out of the final 11 - 12 miles stretch of the Cape Fear river. Windblown waves and current too gnarly. I anchored near the beach yesterday, along with a few sailboats, the boat swinging...

    Mae-C: Storm Dog's adventure

Made it to Sloop Point last night, near Surf City, NC. using Skipper Bob guide to anchorages on the ICW. Really have to keep an eye out for spots if you want to anchor out mostly. I found the mileage markers in the guide useless. I have to find a place based on a name of area, community, or...

    Mae-C: Storm Dog's adventure

I went through Dismal Swamp route yesterday. Very scenic. Made it to Elizabeth City and stayed at the free dock, at Atlantic Christian Universary. Prior to that I fueled up at Lamb’s marina and ate chicken enchiladas at El Puerto restaurant. Food was good and inexpensive. Today I boated 111...

    Mae-C: Storm Dog's adventure

I made it to Captain Steve's dock in Portsmouth Va. Did 130 miles today. Now I can begin the ICW in ernest. Yesterday I stayed at the Spring Cove Marina in Solomon's Md. Very nice place. I was able to walk to a West Marine and bought a few things. My anchor light has seen better days and went...

    Cover o-ring sizes

The access ports in the cockpit area. Look to be circular inspection port or covers. Seems I've been able to find the fuel and water and pumpout dimensions in another post. They were old and falling apart.

    Cover o-ring sizes

Having a hard time finding o ring sizes for the various size covers on our boat. Anyone know the circular covers or ports diameter rings? I can't get at the boat yet so I can't personally measure. I think there may be 2 sizes of circular covers? Additionally, does anyone have problems using...

    Wanting more anchor

Means the surveyor did not bother to actually pull the rode out of the boat to inspect it. Should have done it to not only inspect the condition and quantity of rode, but to also inspect the bottom of the anchor locker. Sometimes they develop leaks into the hull or for evidence that the...

    Wanting more anchor

I have the articulated Lewmar roller, works well with it. I am in a foreign and dangerous location (N.Y.). I only have 2 days to provision the boat and be away on the water. I won't have time for that install. Do you think it'll work with the stock roller seen in my photos?

    Needing new fenders?

I finally gave up on cleaning white fenders and went to black fenders. Problem solved Very Happy I've been thinking on the logic of this! Future purchases should be black or c-dory green. :thup

    Wanting more anchor

I'm considering more anchor for the boat. Can i mount a 20# Vulcan or even a larger danforth type anchor without modifying the roller on our 25? It currently has a 13# on it. The purchase survey estimated 20' 1/4" chain and 200' nylon rode. "Bitter end not sighted". Does this mean I need to...
