    C-Dory 25' Cruiser

Dusty, keep mouthing off please! I was headed for the wrong boat when I started researching and came across the C-Dory and the wealth of experience that was contained in the C-DOGs site (the C-Brat "splinter cell" hadn't formed yet!) The deep V IO's I was looking at would not have allowed us...

    05/13 - 05/15 - Lake Winnipesaukee, NH

Sounds like a great gathering! Kathy and the kids and I will be up there for a week this summer (week of July 16). We found a little house with a dock just right for the Otter, and its not too far from Y-Landing. We will definitely pay them a visit. If there are any areas to explore by boat...

    First Trip

Boy that sounds like a great trip! I keep 100 feet of chain rode in the bow just to put some weight way up forward. Seems to help a bit.

Welcome back Tom! And congratulations on the boat. Looking forward to visiting with everyone next month. Please don't forget to bring you banjo!

    Cats on boats

Thanks for the very interesting and informative replies. I brought the Otter home from the marina for a good cleaning a few weeks ago and left it in our driveway for a week. Fritz was all over it during that week. Seemed to enjoy jumping up into the boat, climbing around the bow, and...

    Cats on boats

I've seen two messages recently referring to C-Brats with feline deckhands on board. Although we take our canine buddies with us on the Otter all the time, I never really thought about bringing Fritz the Cat along. I picture him (a) freaking out underway and climbing to the top of the highest...

And the headline in the Sea Lion Newspaper would be: "Dinner and a Show at the Bonneville Dam on Thursday and Friday -- Bring the Kids!"

Thanks TJ and Jen for the update and passing on Cutter Marine's invitation. Based on the excellent service and friendly attitude I've always recieved from Gary and Ruthie, it doesn't surprise me a bit.

    C-Dory 25' Cruiser

PM, Keep in mind that the 25 footer has only been out for a few years, which is big reason why so many on this site have 22's. Am not sure what I would have done when I bought in 2001 if the 25 had been available, but I am now completely enamored of the ease and versatility of the 22 and have...

    Doin' great!...

Wish I had a camera RF so I could send you a picture of me hunched over my desk shuffling with paper just so you could see what you're missin'! Enjoy, and try to stay within sight of land, okay?

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Kathy was away this weekend so I had to find some fun Daddy stuff to do with the girls. We were out on the water most of the day on Saturday and overnighted on the boat. Two girls and three big dogs make for a very cozy nest in the v-berth -- didn't even have to fire up the Wallas with all...

    Cape Cruiser Boats

Ditto on Bill's comment about draft. There is a little beach on the Potomac not far from our marina, part of a state park, that has become our "private" playground. The approach is too shallow for anything but a C-Dory or a jonboat, and there is a big inland marsh behind it that keeps anyone...

Flood / Docking Lights Mounted on Radar Arch

I've been out a lot at night and actually prefer not to use the spot light most of the time (mine is just a rechargeable handheld). It takes 20-30 minutes to get your maximum night vision, but only a second of bright light to lose it.

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Wish I could, but it isn't legal and it isn't safe. The wall at Washington Harbor in Georgetown is "owned" by the National Park Service and supposed to be just for the use of boaters tying up for short periods and remaining nearby. I am sure if I did it every day, the Park Police would notice...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Got on the road yesterday for my usual trip to work and found the George Washington Parkway and all the secondary roads leading to it jammed up. An accident somewhere early in the morning had screwed up traffic in a big way. I had a meeting mid morning that I really had to attend. So I drove...

What is the worst thing that has happened to your C-Dory?

Worst thing that happened to the Otter: I traveled overseas for four weeks and had a lot to do when I got back. She went 7 weeks without dipping her bottom in the water. She was furious with me.

    05/13 - 05/15 - Lake Winnipesaukee, NH

Another question for John at Y-Landing: we won't be able to make it up for the NECD (definitely pronounced "nekkid"!), but we are thinking about coming up for a week in July. 1. Can we get a slip with you for a week beginning July 17? 2. Any realtors you could recommend we talk to about...

    Kachemak Bay 7ft seas

One of the best lines in C-Brat posting history: "Even moved the puking passengers aft when things got puckery." Hats' off to Dusty.
