Hi Burt, The campground is closed but the marina opened last Monday for docking between the hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm. Most of the trails have been cleared and are open. The restroom near the playground and pavilion is open. Everything Tom mentioned in his latest post is doable. Bill

I talked to Joanna the Hontoon Island, Park Services Specialist this morning. The Park is still closed. the Rangers, volunteers and contractors are still working on getting things cleaned up and back together after the hurricane flood damage. Water was high enough it made it into the ranger...

Good news,I just received a text from Joanna at Hontoon State Park. She says they all made it through the storm safely, they are just waiting for the river to recede so they can get into the park. There doesn't appear to be any major damage, so she thinks they will be in good shape to reopen soon.

C-Dory’s are arriving, there are six on the dock now and expecting maybe one or two more this evening. I think some parking spaces are becoming available at Ed Stone.

Hi Colby, I did the Hontoon Loop the first week of February and had no problems. It was as beautiful as ever. To cool that day to see any alligators though. I will arrive back at Hontoon on Thursday to do a few more days of volunteering during the gathering.

I to am glad to hear Bill and El are doing well. Like many of you reading about their travels and adventures on Halcyon helped my late wife Sue and I with our decision to purchase a C-Dory. I am really glad I was able to meet and cruise with them a few times at Lake Powell. Bill

Leaving Palisade, Colorado this morning (Sunday) with Mystery Girl. Should arrive at Halls Crossing this afternoon. Will keep an eye out for everyone as the week progresses.

Halls crossing is a good ramp. C-Traveler a C-Dory 25 launched there two weeks ago and had no trouble in and out. That is where I will launch from after I leave Yellowstone and make a few stops in Colorado later this month.

Colby, An iPad with the Navioniccs app has worked fine every place I have been. I have been on the Erie Canal for over two weeks now and it has been more accurate than my Garmin chart plotter. Bill

I have been there in March, April and May. You can have some windy cool days in March and April but there are plenty of side canyons to hold up in to stay out of the wind and waves for a day. Boat traffic starts to increase after Memorial Day weekend but it wasn’t all that bad until schools let...
