How to quite your espar heater

Yeah the Wallas heater is the pricey option. We have had our 1800 Kerosene furnace for about 10 years now. I have not had any problems with the furnace and haven't serviced it yet. (That bit is for the Wallas naysayers out there) The selling points for me on the Wallas furnaces are: low power...

How to quite your espar heater

You could just get a Wallas furnace. You can hardly hear it run. Inside or out.

    07/14 - 07/16 - Powell River BC, Canadian CBGT

Well another PRCBGT is in the books. I'll admit, when I saw how busy the marina was getting I was worried that things wouldn't work out very well. But, with Harvey signing on to a part time cruising job as warfinger, and the great attitude of all the visiting C-Brats to make it work out it all...

Its looks like the marina is going to be very busy this weekend. We also have a new harbour master who is not familiar with fitting boats in. She promises she will find room for everyone but can't guarantee we'll all be in one spot. Some may need to raft up. So I encourage people to call ahead...

Mark I tend to use the Marine Weather for the general forecast. I then click the "Weather Conditions" tab to get the hourly reports from various bouys and stations up and down the strait. It works pretty well for me. Cheers Ron

Getting Daydream on a Plane on the Loop

Changing a prop is not much fiddling. Usually only takes 10 min or less. We I'm cruising and want to change the prop I'll find a sandy little beach, back Meander in and stand ankle deep in the water with the motor tipped up. Easy peasy. Done. If you don't have a lower pitch prop (like you'd...

Storm Warning predictions for western Queen Charlotte Strait, and gales for the rest of the area starting tonight and continuing thursday. I think thats why they picked the inside route. Winds from the SE, seas up to 5 metres. I'll bet they have the "fast rescue" boats ready to head out at a...

Pat, We also are enjoying your blog. Thanks for taking the time to do it. A couple of questions: Have you really needed the air conditioner other than in Florida at the start? Is the drone working out as you hoped? I can't recall seeing any footage from it. Maybe I missed it. On another...

Tom, We're delighted you are coming to the PRCBGT. In last years gathering thread I had posted a couple of routes doing the whole way in one go. One is for the East Side an one for the West. I don't think anyone actually took my exact route suggestions but it certainly doable in a day given...
