    A question for sailors ...

Just have to get used to going a little slower. But, as a friend pointed out, I will get to Baltimore on 10-12 gallons of gas, he will use probably 40, and I'll get there 16 minutes after him on a good day. On a really bad day, I may get there first :-) Mike

Spark plug problems on 2005 Honda BF150A

To save folks some trouble, I'm pretty sure the proper plug man. is NGK, not MGK. Mike

    Garmin 4208

One of things I like about Lowrance is the ability to overlay digital data on the main pages in any manner or size that you choose. I have a much smaller unit than you are considering, but I assume this feature is available in their larger units as well. I also like the level of integration...

    Sewage operations aboard my Tomcat

So, these can't be used in no-discharge areas (legally)? How much does this container hold before it needs to be emptied? Mike

    Bilge pump problems

Anyone know what the largest size pump is that will fit into the little galley pump area on a CD-22? My "automatic" pump failed, so I think I'm just going to switch to a Rule 1500 or 2000 and Superswitch, if it fits. Mike

    12V Question

I have extra 12V adapters in the galley module, behind the helm seat, near the throttle, and one under the dinette on the water tank side. I am planning to install one in the cockpit, but I forget why! Mike

Fuel Capacity and Weight for 22 Foot Cruiser

That is an interesting idea...the space under the gunnel down to the deck is largely wasted on a CD-22 anyhow... I'd love to stick with the "plastic" - wonder what volume we would end up with... Be nice to go with saddle tanks amidships. Our deck chairs and cooler fit right along the back...

    Charts

We primarily cruise the Chesapeake and so keep a Chesapeake Bay chart book on board. A few weeks ago, we were heading up a river that I hadn't been to in a while (Chester). I couldn't get the electronic chart to display the river name for some reason. I had to cross check with paper so I knew...

    New Owner

One thing I particularly like about C-Dory gas tanks is I can see how much gas is left. No depending on cranky fuel gauges. I will run the C-Dory tanks much further down than I ever would a tank I can't see inside. Maybe if I had known good fuel flow meters, I would. Mike

    She's Coming out.

We bought a "Sun Shower" for the boat. It had not occurred to me that I could pre-heat water on the Wallace for it (using care, of course)! Mike

    Outboard Manufacturer

I would ask around and buy based on who has a good service in your area. You might also take some of the considerations mentioned above into account too. I didn't see what boat you are powering, so I don't know if the recent redesign of the Honda BF-90 is of interest to you or not. Others...

    Economical Cruising on C-Dory's

One of the main reasons I ended up with a C-Dory is that I was faced with repowering a twin small-block boat and dumping a bunch of money into it. It just didn't seem to make economic sense. Friends selling boats of this sort are having a devil of a time getting rid of them. Hard to say...

    New Boat Purchase

One decision we had to make was simply whether we wanted to spend the money on a CD-25 or could we make do with a 22. A 25 is nearly double the cost of a 22, particularly if you take into account the needed tow vehicle and trailer. An F-150 will easily tow a CD-22, perhaps even a midsize...

    Opinion on Simpson/Lawence Sprint 600

I'm almost certain this is what I have on the boat now. I know I didn't buy a particularly cheap one. It came in a nylon carry bag (I have no idea why), so I just have to find that bag and then I'll know who made the line! I think I used the bag to hold the stern anchor line. Mike

    Prop for Honda BF90

Depending on load, I get 5500-5800 rpm. I think 5800 is peak. Maybe 6000. One of the nice things about the Honda is that it does not feel like it is going to explode at max RPM. I never had that feeling when running at 4200 rpm with a GM small block. Anyhow, we cruise anywhere from 3800 -...

    Opinion on Simpson/Lawence Sprint 600

4 gauge Ancor brand on E-Bay @ $1.68/ft, with at cost UPS ground shipping...! That is going to save me some money. Ordered yellow...in the past, I've always forgotten to buy that and end up with black. Mike

    C-Dory cabin size.

I find the dinette berth too narrow. But, all I do is move the forward seat bottom, table and stern seat bottom out about 4-6". 4" or more extends under the sidedeck anyway and is useless. This also causes the cushions to lie at an angle which I like. Makes it that much less likely I'll roll...

    C-Dory Sightings

A lot of people are intimidated by computers and the internet in general. Some hear stories about their computers getting hacked, etc. So, they may well be lurkers... Mike

Passed a south bound CD-22 on the Chesapeake roughly off of Still Pond earlier today...anyone? Mike

    Naming Waypoints

I'll usually pick a 2 character abbreviation that means something to me, and then name the waypoints after the marker or geographical point. SA - Sassafrass river, SQ - Susquehanna, BR - Brewerton Channel going into Baltimore (might have that name wrong)...anyhow. I was limited by the GPS to...
