    Water under the v-berth question...

Hello All, I looked at 2007 25-c-dory today for possible purchase. Most everything looked great and there have been several upgrades. My one concern...there was a small, round inspection hatch on the cut-away floor under the v-berth (the place where one would place the portable head on a...

    Looking at a 25' C-dory: Advice please

Hello All, I'm looking at a 2007 25 c-dory tomorrow with a 2007 Honda 135 with 1100 hours. It was surveyed last year, and I've looked over that report. Is there anything of note from that particular vintage that should I pay close attention to? I currently own a 22' 1982 C-dory, which...

    Honda 135 outboard on a 25'

Thanks everyone. The engine is a 2007 with 1100 hours. I'm going to take it for a test run this weekend. I think Bob, as always, has nailed it. The loss of lack of more HP is noticeable at the top end, which is fine by me. I can't wrap my mind around a Honda being a POS. I've owned only...

    Honda 135 outboard on a 25'

I'm looking at a 25' c-dory, currently with a Honda 135. That seems a bit under-powered to me. Does anyone have any experience with running a 135 on a 25'? Thanks

    Binoculars revisited

I'm using Canon IS 10 x 42 WP binoculars on the boat. Mine are twenty years old now. They are image stabilized and waterproof, which is something that has come in hand in the PNW. The image stabilizing is great, I don't know if it's better than others, but the optics are world class. One...

Missing State Park Mooring Buoys in San Juan Islands

Well, I certainly hope they replace the ones at Patos. That's not a place I feel comfortable anchoring for any length of time. On the plus side, there seem to be quiet a few more around Cypress now.

What's Seattle really like these days?

Thanks to the military, I've moved around quite a bit in my life. When I return to a place I haven't been to in 15 - 25 years, I'm always shocked by how much it's changed. Eventually though, I come to the realization that I'm mostly shocked by how much I've changed.

    Anybody know about this model?

I don't know, this past year, I've seen many outdoors sporting items sell for ridiculous prices. However, if it sell, then I guess the price was not ridiculous. Right now, I regularly see used high-end bicycles selling for more than they cost new. It's claim that the C-Dory is a non-planning...

    Anybody know about this model?

Hello All...I ran across this add for an older C-Dory up in Washington State https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/boa/ ... 36273.html What really got my notice was the following text in the ad: "these are non planning hulls, very stealth like, very dry and warm, also very SLOW. Can that be...

Marinaut Cape Cruiser 26 For Sale

I took a look at this boat today. It's on a trailer right now, not in the water. It really is in amazing condition. The motors are original, but with only 280 hours. It was owned by an engineer who passed, and it looks like it was owned by an engineer; every wire labeled, a place for...

Your thoughts about this Cape Cruiser for Sale

Thanks, I did a quick search here but, for some reason, that thread did not pop up, although I did learn a lot about who was building what back then! Although I'm looking for a 25' C-Dory, I'm in no rush to buy. It will be interesting to see one of these up close and I'm only 1/2 hour away.

Your thoughts about this Cape Cruiser for Sale

https://bellingham.craigslist.org/boa/d ... 79652.html Hi folks, I'm going to take a look at this boat. Any thoughts from the greater brain trust here? The motors are original but very low hours. I'm wondering also if it might be underpowered and/or overpriced. thanks, Johrn

    Bigger boatitis cured, for now.

A good friend of my just sold his 26' Tollycraft and upgraded to a new-to-him 36 foot Grand Banks Trawler. I've always like the look of a Grand Banks. I drove down to Seattle this weekend to help him cruise it to a boatyard where he will have some minor repair work done. I confess that I've...

    First stop out of Anacortes

I would let the weather be my guide. If it was rough, or even just a little bouncy, I'd just hop over to Cap Sante marina, walk on into town, have dinner and listen to some live music at the Rockfish Grill. If it was flat calm, I'd probably just make the run for Friday Harbor. But that's me...

22 Cruiser Cockpit size, 4 adults

Have you looked at a 26' Tollycraft? Maybe there aren't too many of them in MD. I think that they are much better suited for sunset cruise entertaining, and you can find one for less than a c-dory...at least around the PNW you can.

    Washington State Boat Luxury Tax?

There are plenty of forums on the internet for you to post this kind stuff. Or, get yourself a Facebook page and post memes to your heart's content. Could we please have one nice place on the internet where we don't have to read this kind of junk? From any side!

    Wish us luck

Every linear mile of wetland or upland can attenuate storm surge by was much as eight feet, all other things being equal...plus a wind reduction as well. There is no place further inland you can leave your boat? Even a few miles could make all the difference.
