    My Wadcutter Christmas

There never has been a war on Christmas. However there are preachers and radio talk show hosts who promote that idea to get their followers all riled up so their flock sends money. Sure the ACLU sues governments for promoting one religion over another as the law says, but nobody cares if us...

    remoter Venture 23

I wouldn't worry about 100 pounds of weight. That's little less than 16 gallons of gas in weight. I can't tell any difference in performance or boat handling after burning 16 gallons of fuel. Get the motor you want and don't spend a bunch of time worrying about weight. Just a thought.

    remoter Venture 23

I had/have corrosion problems with my Honda. For that very reason I would get a Yamaha because they have a sweet wash down system that washes down the entire engine without the thermostats having to be open. I don't know about the other brands.

    Vote, please

The answer is term limits 2-6 year terms for senators 6-2 year terms for representatives 1-6 year term for president (so the president works for the country and not re-election). 65 year old mandatory retirement age!

Ford F150 or Toyota Tundra or ???

I tow my 26 with a Tundra. The Tundra handles the boat rather easily and can do the speed limit with ease and accelerate up any hill on I-5 between Kalama and Anacortes while towing the boat at the speed limit. Best pickup I have ever owned and that includes one F-150, 1 chevy 3/4 ton, 1 GMC 3/4...

Here we go again - Yamaha 9.9 verse Suzuki 9.9

I would go with Yamaha for their washdown system alone. Can't be any easier.

    Change of Boat

CDory23, Sea Sport 24XL with marine head and outboard power would be my choice of the boats you have listed. Darn fine boat they are (and the only one that would trade my boat for).

    Shaft length range for kicker

So you're saying the 6 HP single cylinder runs as smooth as the 9.9 dual cylinder at trolling speeds? That falls into I would have to "see to believe" category.

    Shaft length range for kicker

What ever shaft length you choose don't buy a motor with a single cylinder. The noise and vibration will drive you crazy.

Recent WA restrictions - do they affect boat ramps?

One thing you can say for certain is localboy never lets an opportunity to stir the pot pass him by.

22' model - best repower choice

I see a lot of concern with the weight of motors. Fifty pounds is equal to 8 gallons of gas. I personally haven't been able to tell the difference in boat handling after burning 50 gallons of fuel let alone 8. I realize the tanks are further forward than the motors but if the boat's handling is...

    Honda 200

I use a 80 gallon oblong stock tank filled with water and a tub of sulfamic acid crystals. I run the motor till the cooling water gets almost hot. All kinds of crude comes out. Jimmie, check your thermostats as they can get plugged up easy. Might not be as bad as you think.

    Corrosion on BF200

Nope on the welding (it's already fixed). Even if it could be welded the rubber piece holding the brass bushing would catch on fire. I fished the month of August out of Westport with it in that condition all the while being aware of the problem. Made me very nervous. The motor is a 2006.

    Corrosion on BF200

Should have listened to Les. Les said to get the ETEC. If someone can post the picture from my album to this post please do so. If that can't be done you can go to my album and look at the last picture. In the area of the corrosion there is a brass bushing in a rubber sleeve around the...

    Ranger Tug R-25

The new Ranger Tug is a very nice looking boat. I have always felt like the old tugs were a bit 'busy' looking. Very nice lines on the new one.

    Sailboats in a marina.

I went by Shilshore Marina with hundreds of tied up sailboats yesterday and thought, it sure would be crowded out on the water if people actually used their sailboats. Most of the time that I do see a sailboat out and about, they are under power with their kicker motors rather than sailing...
