    downrigger repair

I'll say this. first thing my buddy unpacks from his bag when we get under way is a bunch of bananas. I look at him and ask what the hell he's doing. I've veto'd bananas on my boat countless times already. but it was early and I didn't feel like being rude. after a couple mishaps I'm out in...

    Interesting docking procedures/maneuvers

Tom, you go solo a bit don't you? what is your solo method of docking? I keep meaning to practice from the rear helm in the cockpit and always forget.

    Interesting docking procedures/maneuvers

I dont know how you guys catch all this. I think one day i'm going to just grab a chair in the cockpit and relax and wait for the circus to show. I apparently don't hang out at the dock enough! lol :beer thats how we do it.

    Interesting docking procedures/maneuvers

I never understood that. I always let the motor idle for even a little bit longer after the boat is safely tied to the dock. for one thing, its my only real control if the docking goes awry. for another, my understanding was that letting the motor idle after jetting in from the fishing hole was...

    Interesting docking procedures/maneuvers

I've intentionally avoided this thread for as long as I could but the train wrecks called my name. What I usually see, if I notice anything at all, is a husband and wife pair yelling at each other. docking really stresses people out. I think docking is the single reason my dad sold his boat...

    downrigger repair

I was just going to replace with a manual one for now until I can get the nice electric fixed. these penns are pretty good riggers.

    downrigger repair

anyone know of a good puget sound repair shop for downriggers? I broke the plastic casing on my electric Penn. the gunnel mount is fine, and the downrigger itself appears to be fine, but the plastic housing broke where it screws down to the mount. I saw a guy on craigslist who advertised...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

In the south sound you are lucky to see a salmon caught on another boat, much less catch anything of interest yourself! unless you like dogfish. i'm the big man on campus with sharks. lol

    San Juan Islands June 2014

hey, judging by the smiles in that summary, you did the trip exactly right. it doesn't matter what you see or what you miss if you enjoy your trip! the dinghy does open up doors, but if you can get by without it, then its one less thing to lug around!! and the whole point of these C-Dorys is...

    vintage runabouts

price is right! I saw this one too and already spoke with the owners in Seattle. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/boa/4552806434.html thing is I really love the wooden boats but I dont think I have the skills. i'd probably be wise to just save my money and buy one lol.

South sound recommendations for short visit

That is a perfect Itinerary. if you stay at the city dock (free for 48hrs I believe) in Gig Harbor, or at Arabellas, you are right there in the down town area with little shops, ice cream, and tides tavern (which has a dock). from Gig Harbor its only a couple miles east to Foss Waterway. you...

Those are amazing, love the Resorter. I've been toying around with the idea of a Bellboy or a wooden classic. something that would fit in my garage easily...

    vintage runabouts

how many of you have had some classic runabouts or still do? I'd love to see them. I am always fascinated by the old fin fiberglass boats, and the classic wood chris craft style runabouts. Some days a little runabout seems like just the ticket to enjoy a 90F day on the water :)

    Sniff...

I had 4 1960-66 Chevy C10s, and one later body lowrider silverado that I built basically from scratch. I won't miss any of those nearly as much as I'll miss my C-dory if I ever get rid of it. I like your recap on the Nordic vs other options, size, the Rangers, etc. My wife and I are in love...
