    What would you do?

Rely on your feelings. If you are thinking about it as unsure if you should sail or not, then Don't. Basic seamenship is always check your weather and as the sayings go.......it's better to be at shore wishing you had gone, than to be out in a stink, wishing you had stayed at dock. Drive over...

    Chartplotter questions

Yes...I just posted a reply on the site conserning the Garmin 188. It seems that on my 188 in the Hudson River using the base map at times it showed me on land when I was in the middle of the river (1 mile wide area) I just purchased a Blue Chart chip in hopes that the Hudson river base map is...

    Garmin 188C Waypoint Inaccuracy

I have the 188 and experianced the same thing using the internal base chart. I recently purchased a "Blue Chart" cartriage and well see if this makes the differance. With the base chart I was motoring in the middle of the Hudson Rive and it was showing ..at times...that I was on land.

    Amateur Radio Antennas/Rigs

On Sirena our Tayana 37 I used the backstay with a Icom AH-4. I'm thinking about hooking up my Icom 706 Mk-ll to our CD. The AH-4 only needs a 16' length of wire to have an HF antenna for all 9 bands plus 6 meter. It has a second antenna hook up for 2 meters.

    CD 25 weight?

I recently purchased a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 Turbo Diesel for our CD-25 We just got back from Florida and put over 4000 miles on it in the past 6 weeks. Towing was a DREAM!!! Even when the Semi's pass it didn't move. I had a tire blow out on the dual axil trailer and didn't even know it, a...

    What determines Engine size

Thanks Chuck S. for the good info. I will keep my 75's and be satisfied with good fuel economy and the ability to keep going in some 6' sea's ...I did experience that last month in Florida. Charlie, you should burn out the dust on that 3kw amp at least once a season...maybe we can mark our...

    What determines Engine size

Thanks Charlie for the info. Actually I can do about 31mph with the Honda twin 75's and a fully loaded boat. Fuel consumption isn't bad at cruise speed but....damn .....those bass boats go past me like I'm still tied to the dock. Is the CD's transoms that much weaker or is it because they...

    What determines Engine size

I see small bass boats with 250 hp engs or even larger. And some 28 footers with 3 250hps right out of their factorys. What determines what size engines are allowed on our Cd's. I know the CD-25 started with a smaller size engines than they are allowed today, but why not a 250 or twin 250s...

    Generator on New TomCat

Hi Joe, I have the same generator and plan on keeping it on the aft deck between my twin Hondas. You are correct about the noise level, almost zero. I'm looking for a small (BTU) A/C unit I can mount on the cabin top of our CD-25 Were heading to Florida next Wed. Feb. 1st for the month. This...

    insurance rates/policy

Most home owners insurance policies have coverage for "Personal Property away from home" So you may be already covered with some of your non- attached items on your boats. Check with your home owners before you add extra coverage to your boating ins. I know my fishing equipment and VHFradio...
