    Outboard(s) Up or Down ?

Pointy end out--- keeps the cockpit dry when rain blows under the boat house roof. Keeps practice up on docking and backing down especially with cross wind.

    C-Dory Sightings

While leaving the Elk River I sighted a C-Dory headed downstream on the Tennessee River. A radio contact confirmed it was Two Bears. Welcome to cruising in Alabama and Tennessee (a long way from Idaho)

    North-Westerner 2510

Having talked to the designer/builder, he is planning to be at the SBS but will not have a boat there. There are some interesting reasons he went with the motor well and a few nice features in the design. There is another site that shows more and gives performance data, but being technically...

New to possibility of small cruiser living.

Vinny, Being from Al. I am a little slow. If that applied to me, give me a call and a ride could be in your future. Check the C-Brat map and there may be a C- Brat closer to your location. My boat is always ready to hit the river. Cell (256) 318-4608 Ron

Vinny, Bet you can contact about any C-Brat and hit their location and a ride would be ready.

New to possibility of small cruiser living.

Vinny, One more Southern boat. Put a 5000 btu AC in my '85 Classic 22' and run it with a Honda 2000 gen. Great boat for life on the Tenn. river

    Clip thingies on my 22

I purchased a pair from West Marine to hang fenders outside the windows. The slide in piece came with the attachment you have. They are not expensive, buy a pair and you already have the work completed (mounting the holder). Ron Maybe I did not look close enough at your album picture and they...

    The Cajun Loop

Tex, Sorry that I did not give you a call at the Crawfish festival but I could not hear my phone with all the activity and bands. Missed a couple of calls from home since I could not hear it ring. Sounds as though you had a good trip. We went by car and stayed in New Iberia. Sat. at the...

Length for Teleflex cable on a 1985 22' Angler

Last year I replaced the helm unit and cable on my '85 classic22'. I used a 3000 Steerflex rotary helm 520010. The cable is a Steerflex 462018 09 03, would guess that it is a 20' length. Man what a difference the new unit made. Ron

    Trouble buying my dreams

jgrider, My first stab at a c-dory was not much different from your's. I ended up buying a 21' Ranger tug new but it did not meet a significant need I had for a boat. I decided that it had to be a c-dory but I did not want to put the money in a newer boat. Marc at Wefings had an '85 classic on...

Tennessee River Adventure March or April 2011

Bill, looks like a rough weather day on the river today. If by chance you make it as far as mile 285 (entrance to Elk River) and need a stopping place for the night we have an open covered slip in the subdivision marina with water and power. Also I have transpportation if you need a run to town...

    The Cajun Loop

Just a couple of questions, are you still planning on going to the crawfish festival by land yacht? My wife and I are planning on going down and I thought we might tie up and discuss the loop at your later date. My cell number is (256) 318-4608 and we will be staying in New Iberia on the 7th and...

    The Cajun Loop

I did not mean to imply that I thought any change in your plans should be made. You have a good loop planned and due to my wife's work we can not be gone that long. If we decide to do La. instead of the Carolina Loop then we would have a shorter trip. If we do it maybe we can meet you in Breaux...

    The Cajun Loop

I finally sorted out my shorter loop (not complete loop since it would require securing a vehicle ride of 7 miles from end of trip at Breaux Bridge to start of trip at Henderson,la.) My loop or trip is 96 miles in the heart of Cajun country. Put in at Henderson on the west side of the levee and...

    The Cajun Loop

Thanks for the info. I thought there were ways to get between the Mississippi and Atchafalaya rivers but was not clear on moving between the Atchafalaya and Bayou Teche. Once at Breaux Bridge is there a way to get to Avery Island without going back down to the Intercoastal and over to a bayou up...

    The Cajun Loop

I really hope this can become an affair that can happen again next year. My wife will retire by then and can not be off that long this year. We have signed up for the Carolina Loop in may, but love the area you are going. I have spent a lot of time airboating in these areas and have wondered if...

Tennessee River Adventure March or April 2011

A beautiful section for a Tenn. River cruise would be from Wheeler State park in Rogersville,Al. Mile 277, to Chattanooga, Tn. Mile 464. I live about mile 285, and would offer a place to launch and leave your rig at my house. Several stops with interesting sites are on this route and Chattanooga...

    Fla Keys in January

On the way down if you get a chance to stop at No-Name key, hit the N0-Name pub for the best pizza made. No-Name is by Deer Key. Also Blue Heaven is good at any meal and if their key lime is not the best you have put in your mouth I would be about ready to mail you a refund.(ha) Mel Fisher's is...

    Classic V-Berth Recon

Greg, Great work that you do. If you ever get a chance I would love to see more of things you have done to your boat. Some good shots on smallboat talk and your old web site (before it was wiped out) was great. Your Alaska shots from the air and around your place really make a Southern guy want...
