    Emergency/extra trailer lights for a CD22

I have been using a light bar for over 20 yrs. They are durable to the salt water environment and versatile to other trailers. I used a 1" square tubing about 8'-6" long. Spaced the lights for any usage and hard wired about 30' of cord with the plug on the other end. They never get immersed...

Noob C Dory question #4 – boat ramp launching

I towed my 22' with a 3/4 ton power wagon with fat tires and racing slick type (wide) tires on the single axle trailer. I could tow it anywhere including over the bank and down onto the sandy beach to ocean launch. It also retrieved w/o problem. I tow my 26' with a one ton dually diesel 4x4...

    Noob C Dory question #1.

As an old friend knowledgeable in boating told me one day.... "When choosing a boat and you have decided on just the right one, buy the next bigger one as you will eventually anyway." Good luck in your search for a boat. I trolled hundreds of miles for salmon in my old 1983 Classic angler...

Making an offer on C-Dory 22

I saw this boat today driving by his place. The boat is inside of an open sided shed. My son & I looked at it last year as he was interested in it. Too much $$$$ for him but it is in excellent condition. I would offer him something with a "4" as the 1st no. liike $41,495. It has been for...

    A cautionary tale

I did the wrist watch band thing when reaching under a truck dash. It shorted to ground through the band. I have some permanent marks from it. Also caught my wedding ring in the window slot of a Kenworth tractor door. Jumped off the running board and it was caught on the door. Had to cut it...

    River Horse ... Revisited???

I also "ran out of gas" reading that book. Felt badly about not finishing. May start again with and older point of view. I wanted to do the Yukon from Whitehorse to the sea but ran out of time and want to. Too old.....and as trump says "sad". Also my friend that wanted to go along passed...

    Lower Unit Drain Plugs

An O ring is a sealing rubber and seals by filling the void where it fits. Getting "hurkey" with the plug is foolish as it does not seal that way. A slight tug with a screw driver is all that is needed. If it leaks it is a bad o ring or the sealing surface is damaged. Plugs with a crush...

    Boat hauling done right

I had my 26' ProAngler towed from West Palm Beach, Fla. to Wenatchee,Wash. in 2009 for $3200. All was good except that he made the trip in 54 hrs by himself. Do the math. Probably was cruising at 75-80 mph. My trailer tires (China Bombs) were trash. After installing new tires I pulled it to...
