    C-Dory Sightings

Saw a very dull finished 22' C-Dory, pre 87 model, on a trailer(no engine) along the road south of Kona, Hawaii today.

Great Republic getting a complete restoration

Tinker, My friend up here who also has a 26' ProAngler has a 250 hp Yama on his boat because he blew up his 200 and there was only a 250 available. He is a charter and needed to go now. It is definitely too much engine.

Great Republic getting a complete restoration

Tinker, Congrats on becoming another ProAngler owner. I also drooled over, schemed, dreamed about buying that boat, bring it to Alaska and go fishing. What stopped me is I already have a ProAngler and the 1st mate did not want another. You have a great boat and you will like how it handles...

    Finally Bought My C Dory

Name: how about GOOD DORY I agree that two down riggers to start out with is plenty. Too much going on at one time with 4 on a 22'. Welcome to the C-Brats.

    High jacking an existing thread

Can I chime in.......it is getting confusing. Jack on HIGH TIDE or HIGH TIDE with Jack on it or.....or.. Happy Thanksgiving. Never say hi to Jack. The plane folks do not like that kind of talk.

    NMI REOPENING

Mark, That is great news from your company. We have heard so much negative info over the years but now we hear absolutely the beat news. I thought we were all going to own "orphans" but you came to our rescue...thanks and all the best of luck. As a C-Dory owner for 31 yrs. this is all good...

Steering System Keeps Turning - Low Oil Level?

I used up my Bay Star hydraulic fluid. Very expensive. Last summer at Katchemac Marine in Homer, Alaska I found quart bottles of it for $20. THey bought a 55 gal, drum and filled a bunch of bottles for resale. Good deal and it works well.

    Gear Oil Drain Plug Gasket

I have never replaced a drain plug gasket in 30 yrs except for the one dropped in the sand and could not find it. Never had a leak either. ON several Honda's and several Johnson's. Maybe just lucky.

    Power trim problem

I would replace both switches/relays as they are probably the same age and have been subjected to the same conditions. Cheap preventive maint. IMHO

    Land trailer

On the lower left of the sign on page of C-Brats is a link to El & Bill Halcyon Days. They lived in their 22' CD for several years traveling all over the US. You can get many ideas from them.

    wiper electrical problem

A small Dremel with a cutting wheel may be the best thing to use to split the arm where it attaches to the splined shaft. My problem is that all of that is jambed up under the cabin brow over the windshield. Now it will be a spring project as my boat is "under the covers" for the winter. Thanks...

    wiper electrical problem

If you figure out how to get the wiper arms off let me know as I have not been able to remove mine for 3 yrs. I want to replace them with pantograph(sp) ones.

    Northwest Marine

Boris......... Hopefully you meant the end of the ups/downs and NOT the end of C-Dory. Mark....the best to you and your company. I have been a CD owner for over 31 yrs. so you know I am interested. Good luck and happy to hear no one got injured. Jack in Alaska

    Problem rinsing out Honda 90

Mike B.......... Glad you found the problem. Lucky it was minor. My 200 hp Honda has a cooling water pressure gauge on the dash. It was "gunny-sacked" when I bought the boat but I replaced the gauge this summer and now it works great. Reads 22 psi when cruising at 4000 rpms. Gives an...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Today was the day the HIGH TIDE ii was put to bed for the winter.......again. I hate this day as it will be 7 months before the boat is splashed again. I am getting older (74) and hope I am back to uncover it again to chase the halibut and salmon. I scrubbed and power washed the entire...
