    Battery Types?

Hello All, I am looking at installing a Pro Mariner Pro Sport 12 dual bank battery charger. The installation instructions say "Do NOT mix battery types on-board. All batteries should be of the same age and in good operating condition." I am planning on using a 660 CCA lead acid starting/deep...

    Motor Well Drain Tube

Thanks fellas. I agree on leaving about 3/16" to create the flare at the end of the tube.

    Motor Well Drain Tube

I removed the brass tube to inspect the core as I noticed some small hairline cracks around the old tube. There was very little in the way of sealant around the tube, but still dry. Now sealed forever and going to put back the tube to make the hole cleaner looking. The flange should secure it...

    Motor Well Drain Tube

Hello Brats, I am installing a new drain tube in my motor well as I wait for the flaring tool to arrive I have a couple of questions to anyone who has installed one of these before. 1) Assuming you buy the tube length greater than the transom thickness, how much extra does one leave to...

Thanks Sunbeam, I get what you mean.

    HATCH COVERS IN BERTH

Sunbeam, I'm sorry but I don't quite follow. Not sure what a flush panel/turnbutton type hatch is. I plan to use the old hatch covers that were on the lazarettes in the cockpit. Like many others, I expect to use the lockers for items that don't require immediate and often used items...

    HATCH COVERS IN BERTH

After reading this thread, I too am of the opinion of adding storage under the V-berth area. I was thinking about installing three hatches to gain access, but rather than putting the hatches on the horizontal planes and directly under the cushion (avoiding the hatch "bump"), I was thinking of...

    Teak trim fasteners

Thanks fellas. Again just the information I need. I have epoxy on hand and am thinking that sealing the ends is a good idea. I am thinking of painting the edges with neat epoxy, then add a little thickened epoxy, fasten with clamps, clean with acetone, add some brads, punch set, and fill. Is...

    Teak trim fasteners

I am installing some teak trim (5/8 x 3/4, I think) around a decaguard plywood panel for a door under the helm seat. I am thinking of using finishing nails, wood glue and clamps to fasten the trim to the plywood. Is this ok to do in the interior of a boat, given the marine envrionment, or is...

    Question on Lazerette Covers

Hi Jack I purchased a set for my '04 Cruiser as mine too leaked. I got them at Fisheries Supply (http://www.fisheriessupply.com/imtra-sop-spa-40155-spa-40155). Looks like your in luck as they have free shipping on orders over $99.00 in the lower 48. I wish we could get opportunities like...

    Someone who can sew curtains.

Nice window coverings Greg. I am interested in doing up a set of coverings like yours. Was the colour choice you used "indian birch"? How are the coverings holding up now that you have used them for several years? Cheers, Grazer

    quick, cheap, halibut rig

Nice rig Ken! How does one tie a "egg loop dropper knot"? Is it a separate loop on the main leader line or a loop off the main leader line? What size hooks, swivels, hoochie and lead are you using in this set up? I can't wait to catch my first halibut. Thanks, Grazer

    Fastener installation into epoxy

Well is sound like the WM can withstand the stresses needed to hold a filter or starboard panel on a vertical panel on our boats quite adequately (providing one, installs them correctly). The biggest advantage I see is no more holes into the core! :D

    Fastener installation into epoxy

Thanks for all the suggestions fellas. I had thought of most of those options as well. Sunbeam, I am interested in the weldmount studs destruction how well did they hold? What do you mean by the "whack test"? This might be the way to go if they are as strong a bond as they claim. Anyone...

    Fastener installation into epoxy

Well I am finishing up some epoxy work and beginning to put things back. So I removed some screws holding the Racor fuel filter on the inside of the transom, overdrilled (enlarged the hole), backcut with a dremel, painted with neat epoxy and filled with cabosil thickened epoxy. After the green...

    Upgrades!

Love the roof rack! I've been trying to re-jig a set of old thule bars for my boat, but I think I'll copy your design (and pass on the credit  ). Did you put any rubber around the stainless bars to keep the pvc from sliding fore or aft? Or are the hose clamps tight enough to keep...

Any specific issues with 22' Cruisers built in 2000?

DaveS, Do you know when in 2004 they relocated and built 22's in the new factory? I have a 2004 Cruiser and am interested where she was constructed. Thanks, Grazer

    Battery Wiring Advise

Thanks jkidd, my setup actually does have that - the bilge pump is wired directly to the battery and to the switch. My diagram does not illustrate that very clearly, but thanks for pointing that out. I agree with your assessment of the dual bank charger. Thanks again for your comments. Grazer
