    Ice box drain

The hole is fairly small, maybe 3/16 outside diameter on the hose barb. In addition to the cork plug, I got a piece of tubing hose clamped on the barb now. Thanks.

    Ice box drain

After I removed the ice box from under the helm seat in my 22, I really appreciated the storage space. The ice box had a tubing connection to a thru hull fitting to remove the water after the ice melts. Now that it is removed, the thru hull fitting is terminated by a cork stopper, but I wonder...

    Outboard Lower Unit

I have to echo the previous post. After checking my gear oil and finding some milkyness to it, I conducted the air pressure test and confirmed the seals were good, I went back to the nylon washers on the drain screw. They are good for only ONE tightening. I re-checked the oil this summer...

    Honda BF90 Tachometer Readings

Thanks, I'll try that. The fact that it seems intermitten leads me to think that it is an electrical contact thing too.

    Honda BF90 Tachometer Readings

Hi all, This came up a few times last year and again this weekend. The Tach shows normal ranges for RPM one day and the next day the RPM needle goes off the gauge beyond 7000 before even up on plane. The motor and throttle response seem the same, but the tachometer is way off. Anyone else...

    Roller Trailer Maintenance

Shined up the spindle shoulder and applied a skr double grease seal, adjusted the brakes and should be good for the rest of the year. Used the 3M emery cloth, thanks T.R.

    Roller Trailer Maintenance

Thanks again fellas. I was thinking along those lines with the emery cloth. Looks like I'll be needing some more oil seals and elbow grease. Grazer

    Roller Trailer Maintenance

Thanks fellas. I have been doing exactly what you both suggested. I typically rinse the rollers off once out of the water. I guess the problem with applying grease to the axles of the rollers it that they'll attract the dirt and grime which will likely get sticky. As for wheel bearings, I...

    Roller Trailer Maintenance

Hey all you roller trailer Brats! I am new to the roller trailer after using bunk systems on trailers for all of my previous boats. Be that as it may, and not wanting to get into the whole bunk vs roller debate, I was wondering about what sort of maintenance one should do. My EZ loader manual...

A couple of datapoints on micro-kickers

Great to hear about the Mercury 3.5 h.p. pushing your 25 like that. I have the same motor and have been able to move upstream in the Yukon River, granted very slowly, on the back of the 22. I also have a 9.9 Tohatsu and have been contemplating selling it and just using the 3.5. Cheaper...

Has any one ever converted a roller style trailer over to a

Da Nag, Thanks for your response. Why did you go to rollers? I like the rollers for launching, but retrieving the boat by myself in windy conditions or in current presents a real challenge. My thoughts are that with bunks, one can simply power the boat on the trailer, go forward reaching over...

I am considering changing my roller trailer out to bunks. This tread seems to indicate that it's fairly easy to do. I am not able to open the photo links of Ron Fisher. Nor am I able to send him a Private Message as he is logged in as a guest on this forum. I would like to view those photos...

    Permatrim Hydrofoils

I just finished a weekend using C-Horse with my newly installed permatrim on a Honda 90 (no trim tabs). We had heavy winds in the afternoon and calm conditions in the morning. The permatrim helped the boat's attitude tremendously in getting the nose down. Now I can finally see over the bow...

    Center Window Screen Cover

Thanks for all your replies. The photograph really helps in seeing what I imagined I would do. I still want to be able to stand up in the cabin at night and be able to see out over the bow. Now the challenge of fabrication. Cheers, Grazer

    Center Window Screen Cover

I am in the process of finishing up my interior window coverings and was wondering if anyone had placed a screen in the center opening window. My thoughts are that the other coverings will provide privacy around the docks and the center screen will allow for some privacy, but more importantly...

    Lake Superior Bayfield area

Bob, you gotta do the north shore. I grew up in T.Bay and have been all over the north shore from Tee harbour, Dorion, Black Bay, Jackfish Bay, Rossport etc. The area is awesome. Weather can be unpredictable, and at times nasty! The ice will definitely be off by July. Heck, like Sunbeam...

    USB Charger

Thanks for all your responses. As for the parasitic draw of 15mA, this has me somewhat concerned. I sure am interested in the timer switch. That sounds like a smart move, as invariably things get left on or plugged in.

    USB Charger

I am looking at installing a Blue Sea Dual USB charging socket. I was thinking of mounting near existing cigar lighter socket and piggy back off the existing power supply. Or should I find a dedicated terminal with it's own fuse. Any suggestions as to where others may have installed it and...
