    CD-25 Propeller

Hello Les, I realize it is a busy part of the season, but for the record, coulld you please when you get a chance, post the full specs or part number of the best prop mentioned in your post, that you have discovered and referenced above for the CD25 Honda BF135/150 combination. I and perhaps...

    XM Sat. Weather

If you have broadband wireless on your laptop on the boat and if you are in range (or from your home computer if you are just looking around), the best NOAA site is here: http://nowcoast.noaa.gov/ It seems that all that this is the source for all the data that is broadcast to the...

    EPIRBS and PLB's

With the new mandatory 406mhz EPIRB regulations in effect since 1/1/2007 I was wondering if anyone is considering buying a new EPIRB and if so, which one. The new WEST marine flyer that came yesterday has small ACR units on sale. Does anyone know how long the standby battery life is on the new...

    Transom stress cracks on 25

I don't quite agree that this is just a cosmetic issue. While I do not think it is structural to the hull it certainly is a design defect in the engineering of the gelcoat/laminate mold geometry on the 2004 CD25. The geometry at this location is definitely a design defect with inadequate radius...

    C-Dory Burgee Order!

I like the first one better since it is more than just a lettered sign on a pennant. I already have a logo that says C-Dory on each side of my boat and pennant that just says C-Brats might be "C"ing too many "C"s. My 2 cents. How about a poll?

    C-Dory Burgee Order!

Put me in for 2. Whatever design. How about taking it to the next level and in addition to having a burgee, include a membership card also? There are many yacht clubs here in the east and elsewhere I suspect that allow facility privledges, moorings, tieups at the dock, water, etc for visiting...

Camperback - which dealer to use?

Bob, hate to call you out on this a second time. I'm sure everyone appreciates your good advice but anyone wanting lifetime warranty on their camper back canvas thread should use Tenara GORE™ TENARA® Sewing Thread by the makers of Goretex. Last time I looked Tundra was the name of theToyota...

    Floatation

The best flotation I had in a boat was a wooden 1" flat bottom skiff I built about 30 years ago. Cypress on oak with a 1/2" marine plywood bottom and solid oak transom. The skiff could be filled with water (totaly swamped) and the powerhead of the 15hp Evinrude would still stay out of the...

    WELCOME TOM LATHAM

Wow. I'm curious what this means. Love my pre-2007 C-Dory, don't you?. They don't build them like they used to.

    Naming my boat

I had a promiscuous fishing buddy quite a while back who named his boat the "Old Lady" That way he could cover his tracks by saying he was just going out on the old lady again. As I recall he also had a dinghy called "Tender Behind". Now picture follwing his boat with the names on the transom...

    Electronically Aided Collisions

Pat, Glad your outcome didn't have unexpected results. I remember reading somewhere that most male floaters found by the Coast Guard and the harbor police are found with their zippers down.

To keep your C-Dory in the water or not

Bob, do you mean isophtalic and orthophtalic? I never heard of the ones you mention This may be a new reccomedation from the factory (although I haven't seen it on any of the brochures) based on possible use of lower cost polyester resins and some recent cases of green gelcoat polyester resin...

To keep your C-Dory in the water or not

Bob, I believe what the factory told me, but would have to perform a chemical analysis to verify. In the meantime, I have no blisters and I am sure that either thinner epoxy or thicker vinylester would work just fine as a barrier coat. I would also like to point out that the superior bonding...

To keep your C-Dory in the water or not

If you google vinylester blisters you can come up with lots of info. For example see: http://www.zahnisers.com/repair/blister/blister1.htm The following is from a paper posted at the above link and explains the situation of epoxy and vinylester. If you have the time or inclination click on...
