    Deck Inspection Hatch Installed

Barry, you have me worried about your comments regarding the inner hull being "permeable". I had the area dried out pretty well and put the cap back on a week ago. I just checked and the cap had droplets of condensation and the inner floor was wet. We have had no rain and the boat is on the...

    Deck Inspection Hatch Installed

I knew I had water because I could stick my finger in bilge hole and feel it. I could put a small hose in and suck some out but was not getting much. Ignore the dates on the first 2 pix. I didnt have the camera set right. Thanks Joe for putting the pictures up.

    Deck Inspection Hatch Installed

Greeting Fellow Brats, I couldn't stand it any longer. I knew I had some water trapped under the floor of my 22 cruiser but I couldn't tell how much. So I installed a 4 inch inspection hatch. Pix in my album. Low and behold I had 1/2" of water trapped in there. About 6 1/2 gallons. I have...

    I want a DRY BILGE

Thank you all for the suggestions. I think I have a weekend Pluto project coming up. The Whale 650 automatic pump might be the easiest solution. To those suggesting a good sponge I cant tell you how many times I have dried it out that way and only a few minutes later I will spill something...

    I want a DRY BILGE

Greetings Brats, Has anyone come up with an ingenues design to pump out the last bit of water left behind in the bilge pump well? My bilge is a disgusting green mess because it leaves just enough water a after a pump cycle to cover the flat in front of the well so my gas tanks and battery...

    Yikes! Mouse on Board!

All excellent suggestions. However I think I will leave the shotgun option as a last resort. You guys are nuts. Thanks for the laughs.

    Yikes! Mouse on Board!

The wife and I went out for a day trip to the beach today and after being underway for 10 minutes she spotted a mouse that came from somewhere and ran into the bilge area hiding behind the gas tanks. Any suggestions on how to get the little stowaway off my boat? It stays in the water at the...

    Engine Overheating

Hey Marvin, do you have a Suzi 115? I have the same problem. Can run for hours and then it will do the overheat shutdown to 1800 rpms or so. Stopping the engine and restarting has so far resolved it, but I am trying to figure out why. I have replace the thermostat and water pump, but it...

I like a bar you can bring your dog

And I found such a place at the Daufuski Crab Company, Daufuski Island, SC. Extremely laid back and friendly and the food and drinks are good. The dog liked it too. The wife, dog and I spent last night at the Melrose Landing Marina. The place is in receivership and the marina has been...

    Boat listing on mooring

I had the same problem until I turned my steering wheel and let the motor rest the other way when it was trimmed up out of the water. It shifts the weight considerably to the other side. Problem solved.

    Like a cork !

Azul, In my experience its hard to keep the bow down! The CD22 I have has to use trim tabs to keep the boat level. Of course you could overtrim and have an issue but thats not the boats fault. I have yet to take one over the bow. Just hope I have my windows closed if I ever do.

Sound Absorbing Paint and Helm Bar

It took about 2.5 gallons to do the interior of the boat. The finish is rough, off white which looks fine to me. Probably not good for stuff sticking to it.

    Bimini Fuel Burn

I just topped Pluto since getting back from Bimini. Bimini, Bahamas to Fort Lauderdale Harbour Town Marina. 17.7 Gallons. About 55 miles. 3.1 miles to the gallon. God I love these boats. You can do anything and go anywhere with them. Bill

Sound Absorbing Paint and Helm Bar

Greetings fellow Brats, I recently made some improvements to Pluto that others may find helpful. First off a couple of coats of this paint made a huge difference in the cabin sound levels. I applied two coats to the cabin and V berth. Be sure to include the V berth. Doing just the cabin...
