Rideau - Ottawa- St Lawrence -clockwise or counterclockwise?

When we did the Great Loop, we did the trip counter clockwise, but with a C-Dory, it shouldn't make any difference. Current on the St. Lawrence is much stronger than the Ottawa River.

Opinions on this as a dingy please

best dingy we ever owned! indistructable, light, & would plane w 4 hp (2 people). 12ft would be too big for c-dory (IMO). dog loved the floor. just like a water bed for him. would jump off the swim platform to go nap in the dink. it is pretty ugly though. we plan to get another one when...

    Great Loop Question

Check this website for info from a looper that did it in a 26' glacier bay. We were with them for much of the loop (on our Monk 36) and these folks knew how to do it with panache. http://www.betsyrick.com/ our blog: http://gletzold.blogspot.com/ The C-Dory 22 will be a perfect boat to do...

    Competition for Permatrims

I recently installed one of these on my dinghy outboard (9.9 hp Mercury) and found that it gave me a considerable increase in thrust, a better ride (forced the nose down), and noticeably quieter at speed (not sure why). http://shop.sailboatowners.com/detail.h ... 0&cat=2601 No affiliation...

    Boat heaters

When we had our little stove, we picked up cannisters (and a new little stove) at an oriental food store. We seem to see the stores everyplace we go and the prices for the stoves and cannisters is much less than anyplace else ($12 for 6 bottles & $15 for the stove - looks like a kenyon to me...

Impeller service on Honda twin 40hp

Anyone else have twin Honda's 40's or the like with close to our hours or more with no problems with water pump. If you had water pump problems at what moter hours did it occur. I have a single Honda 40 (1999). After noticing a reduced stream (no idea of how many hours since last change)...

Charlie, I must have been napping that day - lots of good inputs on the book. I ordered my copy today. You guys have fun at the Chesapeake Redezvous - we will have to miss it this year. We head out on the Great Loop the week before. Gerry
