    Fuel Line issue

Tsturm, good point - hard to know when to stop cranking. Running new fuel lines and using Oetiker clamps. Great shots in your photo album! I noticed you mounted the water/fuel separator on the stbd side splash well, above fuel tanks. Did you remove anti-siphon valves? My water/fuel...

    Fuel Line issue

Ordered two 10 packs of high quality 13-15mm 304 stainless fuel clamps on Amazon. West Marine fuel clamps are going back, they cut the fuel jacket. Thank you Flashyfish and Almas! Project is coming together :) Mark

    Fuel Line issue

Thanks Almas, makes sense. It's possible existing pickups are still intact. Will order two from the link you provided in the event current pickups are bad. Did you order the 22" pickups? Did you have to modify, cut 45 degree angle on bottom of pickup? Do I need screens at the bottom of the...

    Fuel Line issue

To fix the fuel issue problem, I intend to replace every part in the fuel system from fuel pickups to fuel connectors on the twin 50hp Yamaha's. Hoping a few awesome Cbrats can review my order list and add or subtract anything they feel necessary. Boat is 17 years old and this project is long...

    Friday Harbor Gathering

Hi Wa500 - Lake Tahoe's shoreline is 72 miles long with lots of bays, coves, docks and restaurants to explore. It's a massive, scenic high mountain lake. Emerald Bay is popular with an island you can swim too. During summer, you can fish for Mackinaw, Kokanee, Brown Trout, Rainbows...

    Friday Harbor Gathering

Well, it's been a three week journey upgrading the boat and I don't think Thumbs Up will be ready for Friday Harbor next week. I need a few sea trials on Lake Tahoe before a big run up North. I still have plans to explore Puget Sound this year and it would be great to connect with fellow...

    Friday Harbor Gathering

Hi Jay! Yes, it's hard to believe it's been 8 years since we crossed pathes in Icy Straight. I hope the next eight years don't move as fast as the last eight. Your stories about you and Jolee cruising Alaska in your CDory are beautiful and inspirational and I hope one year to do the same. My...

    Lithium Batteries - locking lazaretts

Very helpful information, thank you thataway. Question about lithium batteries. I am getting conflicting information regarding the use of a lithium battery as a start battery. Y-Marine and Northwest Marine Industries said you cannot use lithium as a start battery. NMI said it could burn the...

    Lithium Batteries - locking lazaretts

Hello Cbrats, I am upgrading my existing Optima series 24 batteries to series 24 Tracker Lithium batteries. This is a significant upgrade as it will reduce stern weight and provide a longer life battery with 5,000 recharge cycles. The batteries may outlast the boat! The cost of the lithium...

    Friday Harbor Gathering

Colby - I like the idea of a short boat ride on my first go to Friday Harbor so I think it's best to launch from Cap Sante Marie and park the Truck/Camper in overnight parking for a few days. It would be great to connect with you and/or other Cbrats for the journey to FH if possible. It would...

    Friday Harbor Gathering

Very helpful information, thank you all and thank you Jim and Gary for the detail. I will make sure to tell fellow Cbrats hi for you! Would it be best to depart on an outgoing tide for fuel effeciancy? I will keep a close eye on the weather and leave early morning as it sounds like that is...

    Friday Harbor Gathering

Thank you MJDaggett and Bridma. Plan now is to drive up 395 to Snoqualime pass and then to Annacortes or Bellingham and avoid valley cities. It's a fairly new truck/camper setup so finding a secure place to leave the rig overnight for a few days is important. Any suggestions on boat ramps in...

    Friday Harbor Gathering

Hello friends! I would love to attend the Friday Harbor gathering as it's been on the top of my bucket list since I purchased my 22' Cruiser back in 2014. I've boated on Lake Tahoe and a few local reservoirs with the CDory but have yet to make a trip to the ocean. I am ready to pull the...
