Chain is expensive. Be happy that you have such a robust rode setup. My last boat had an all chain rode. Good peace of mind. I wouldn't worry about the weight issue. Some C Dorys have water tanks and batteries forward.

The 26 Venture is the cream of the C Dory crop IMHO. But I don't know if I'd call it drastically different than the 25. Its a tad bigger, a tad more stout, a slightly different interior layout and some minor hull differences. The 26V is an amazing boat but I wouldn't upgrade from a 25 to a 26...

Im 6' and 190lbs. I have owned a C Dory 16, 19 and 25. The 16 was small for me. The 19 and 25 were fine. The bigger question is what are your wants/needs? There are big differences between the 16-26 C Dorys. Let us know about your budget/cruising/fishing needs and then we can help you more.
