Drone Video - Tomcat 255 Salmon Fishing

I've used that function on land and was surprised at how good it worked. For this flight, I was kind of freaked out that we had not practiced a landing on the boat and had to figure it out on the fly that. My phone battery was low so it was a quick flight. We intended to do landing practice...

    Tomcat Windshield Wiper Part Number

Boris - Can you explain your comment in the linked post "Ground a slot down the side and removed the arm"? what tool did you use? I tried to replace my AFI motor yesterday and could not get that off!

    Tomcat Windshield Wiper Part Number

The prices seem to have really increased. I'm wondering if I could reuse my Pantographic Arm. Any thoughts?

    Tomcat Windshield Wiper Part Number

Does anyone know the part number for standard windshield wipers on a Tomcat? I think it AFI 37100 which is an 80 degree sweep. The AFI 37200 is 110 degrees. I want to get this on order ASAP and didnt check the sweep radius.

My Mechanic's suggestions - looking for validation

Thanks for the advice. My mechanic thought the batteries we gel cell so I'm feeling better about them! I bought them based off a recommendation from another mechanic and didn't do any research.

My Mechanic's suggestions - looking for validation

I currently have two 1100's; one on the starboard bilge and one in the port bilge. I'm only replacing the port because the dealer who sold the boat to me replaced this without a float switch.

My Mechanic's suggestions - looking for validation

Hi, I have a 2006 Tomcat with twin Suzuki DF140s. This weekend I had a mechanic out and he gave me a lot of great advice. There were a few things that I wanted to post here and get some advice. 1) He hated my 'Optima Blue Top Marine Deep Cycle Batteries'. He felt that these types of...

    2006 Suzuki DF140 RPM Racing

Quick update. I had a mechanic on the boat yesterday and he found the relay in the battery box, starboard side that was totally corroded. He jumped it a boom - power! He gave me a good lesson in cleaning up my electric connections....something I'm ashamed to say has gone forgotten.

    Westie Annual Video - 2016

My standard gear is a Phenix 807 rod and Shimano Tekota line counting reel. I use a Phenix 808 for sturgeon. I also run two Ugly Stick rods with Shimano Charter Special TR2000 reels when I have friends on board. The key is to have a moderate tip action with some backbone and good drag. I run...

    Westie Annual Video - 2016

Thanks for the comments. Salmon Fisher- I don''t have down riggers installed. I just like the simplicity of running 2 lbs balls on a sinker release. There in no boom in the way, no huge swinging weight, no snags that take few hundred bucks of gear.... My main rig is a FBR or RSK. We do...

    Westie Annual Video - 2016

Thanks! It's completely chronological. I have great group of friends and they crew the boat hard...really blessed. My Tomcat is a fishing machine!

    Westie Annual Video - 2016

Hi C-Brats - Happy New Year! Thank you for all the advice throughout the year! I wanted to post my annual video here to show how I'm using your inspiration and advice. I make a video each year for my family and close friends and thought I should post 2016's version here...I literally bought my...

    2006 Suzuki DF140 RPM Racing

Thanks Brent - I'll work on debugging the motor. I have lots of travel coming up but I'll update when I can get back to the slip. Really appreciate your insights! Thank you - hope you have a great holiday!

    2006 Suzuki DF140 RPM Racing

BrentB - there is a fuse behind my Captains chair. I believe it is 50amp. It blew when I installed the new switch because I forget the anchor is hard wired. This makes me think the wires from the fuse to the switch is good. I can't read any voltage at the motor. My crew thinks the motor is...

    2006 Suzuki DF140 RPM Racing

Finally replaced the switch and it's the same...I have power incoming and no power gong to the winlass motor. I checked the resistance in the switch is connecting properly. If the motor was bad, wouldn't I still see voltage going to it at the switch?

    2006 Suzuki DF140 RPM Racing

Thanks Boris - It really comes down to time. Since I rarely anchor, I really don't want to spend the time and money on this fix. The previous switched worked for 10 years. I hope to get that again...if not, I'll probably just upgrade the whole system.

    2006 Suzuki DF140 RPM Racing

Thanks again. I rarely anchor so I'm not too concerned about working the switch too hard. My preference would be to just replace it for now. Lawman's website says this works with all winlass models. I prefer the look...do you think this would be fine and the cost is basically the same...

    2006 Suzuki DF140 RPM Racing

The switch is a Lewmar LEW 0052519. I do not recall seeing a relay. The thermal fuse was 50 AMP. Do you think this switch would need a relay? https://www.amazon.com/Lewmar-Toggle-Sw ... EW+0052519 My engines are counter rotating and port is clockwise (95% sure anyway). Port is the engine...
