In my opinion it is a very good stove, very simple and few thing to go wrong. Fuel is readily available and like I said before, safe fuel in a boat, if you spill some, just wipe it and clean your windows with it. If you are not happy with it, I can take it off your hand :D

You should have a gasket that need to be remove before use, if not present, the alcohol will evaporate quite fast. Even with the gasket, it will evaporate so unless you know it was filled up recently, it’s probably empty. If you have 2 burner, you can just fill one if you are not planning to use...

    Diesel heater exhaust

Thanks Colby, I’ll try to minimize the chance of getting water inside the burner as much as I can.

    Diesel heater exhaust

Peter & Judy, thanks for your comment. Like you, it is a very rare occurrence but it does happens. right now I feel like I have an opportunity to improve on it with the added bonus of getting a bit of heat inside the head compartment. I’m running it through this site first to make sure I’m not...

    Diesel heater exhaust

I’ll be installing a forced air diesel heater inside the galley cabinet and debating about where to install the exhaust port. I have a Wallas stove with the exhaust port right below it, just above the waterline, very similar to my previous 22 cruiser. I had in a few rare occasions, in both the...

Cold Temperature Storage of Inflatable Dinghys

I have experienced several times those temperature change affecting the air pressure on the dinghy. Happens mostly in the morning when at the "mother ship” but also a few times where I go to shore in the afternoon for a nice long walk, come back early evening just before sun set to find quite...

Cold Temperature Storage of Inflatable Dinghys

Colby, I have been boating here in Alaska for 20 years now, I always kept my dinghy in an unheated shed for the winter mounts, with temperatures reaching 40 below at times. I never touch it or move it around during below freezing temperatures. I haven’t seen any issues with doing it this way...

    Pets, especially dogs

Yes, but I also sometimes put one dog bed under the v-berth (area for the porta potty) and that work very good as well.

Most dog are great on boat, I’m sure you’ll have not problems with yours. I never did long distance cursing like mention above, so was a lot simpler for me, I just take them to shore a few times a day. Like Bob said, they see the boat as living space and I never had to train them to not go in...
