    Underwater cameras

I purchased a Cannon a few months ago with a separate housing. (I don't recall the model and of course that is really important for comparison)! I was disappointed to discover the quality of the pictures was less than that of my 10 year old Kodak digital camera. We paid roughly $400 for the...

    Underwater cameras

I'm looking for an UW camera as well but for diving. Something point and shoot and under $400 ideally. I've read a ton of reviews and of course there are as many that say a camera is great as it is horrible. Thanks!

    3rd Windshield Wiper on Tomcat?

Something I have been meaning to get done for years but have not yet...

    My new Tomcat so far.

I'm very sorry to read this. The shore power port and the condition of the macerator hoses is ridiculous. As is the notion that porthole windows leak. Windows are not installed at a dealer - that was the factory. There have been a few solutions to the fish boxes. Some installed drains to...

    Do I really need Radar?

I vote for radar. Even if you never have fog - an electronic set of eyes is a hugely valuable tool day and night. Use it during the day in good weather so when you are cruising at night or of course in fog you will be familiar with it. Enjoy!

    Get ready Winter is coming.

That is crazy...whenever I had a machine (snow, 3-wheeler, or 4 wheeler) coming back down on me I dove out of the way and let her go. Quite the video.

How did you fare in the East Coast storm?

I did my homework and found a respected shop for my repairs. The owner took me on a tour of the facility to show me works in progress. There were cored boats that ran aground HARD with large holes in their hulls for example. (Great to see he had experience with cored boats). He had several...

    C-Dory Dealers

Not all dealers are created equal unfortunately and there are consequences to bad customer service. I would not return to my dealer if they were giving them away (assuming they are still a dealer). The best thing to do of course is to come here and find out who the good dealers are. The...

    Suzuki Periodic Maintenance Schedule

Ditto - that where I buy mine as well. See the following link for a diagram. (I did not create this image - I found it online).

    Suzuki Periodic Maintenance Schedule

If you buy the service manual for the engine you can do the work with some basic tools, patience, and of course following instructions carefully. The cost for someone else to do maintenance is so high it provides a good incentive to learn :D Anyway great that you plan to get it done. I...

How did you fare in the East Coast storm?

My policy is with Travelers. I'm not required to have a marine surveyor but I will have a highly referred custom boat fiberglass company do the repairs. This company apparently works with manufacturers for custom work, hurricane repairs, etc. All my repairs are the cabin - luckily nothing to...

How did you fare in the East Coast storm?

Thanks for the kind words gentlemen. Sorry to hear about your challenges as well. The process is moving right along - Napoleon will be moved to a repair facility Saturday for inspection and then work shall proceed.

How did you fare in the East Coast storm?

Well it was a long day with the chain saw cleaning up. It looks a little less scary with the tree removed and a closer inspection. I found two points of impact damage on the fiberglass where there was impact but only on the cabin of course. There were no broken windows, engines were not...

How did you fare in the East Coast storm?

How did everyone make out? I awoke this morning to find a tree right on top of Napoleon. Radar is gone, structural damage, window frames bent, etc. Ugh...let's hope insurance works.....

    Pettit Bottom Paint

Well today I pulled Napoleon for the season. Boo...only cruised 640 nautical miles this year but was very busy with commercial work. I can say I have finally discovered a bottom paint that actually works - Pettit Ultima ECO. I have been amazed all year and especially today. I had no...

Best Motor(s) Angle(s) & Trim Tab Settings for Heavy Sea

Hi Gerry, You want to control your boat such that you don't take water over the side - any side - whether it's the bow, stern, or sides. It's prudent to balance the weight on your boat under any circumstances. If heading into seas you would want to have your bow trimmed up sufficiently to...

Best Motor(s) Angle(s) & Trim Tab Settings for Heavy Sea

Engines trimmed all the way up and out of the water safely at the marina until the heavy weather subsides :D Beware of get home itus. (We've all danced with that devil). I'm sure you're looking for something specific from the C-25 owners but it will boil down to keeping your bow up...

Somebody Needs to Be Buying NEW C-Dorys

At one point there was a C-Dory dealer on lake Winnipesaukee in NH. I don't recall seeing any activity from them in a very long time.

    Wrong Forum Indeed

There are a few here that try to interject their personal politics (I've done it too) but the majority appreciate the fact that the site does NOT engage in it. Why not save your politics for the sites that encourage political and personal fights such as THT and save your friendly boat...
