    Something Electrical Messed Up Again...

After you connect the DC cables of the charger to the batteries, the battery chemistry selection LED will illuminate (Safe Mode). At this point, you can toggle thru the different battery chemistry selections by pressing the pushbutton on the membrane panel for each specific output. Once AC is...

    Something Electrical Messed Up Again...

I don't know your system but with most other chargers I've used the monitoring system usually works off the AC side, so what I would try is plugging it in to the same extention cord that worked with the short leads.

Non skid repair on an 88 cruiser

Likely what Mike said. My 87 had some dark spot areas much like you describe, that I think were just dried in grime of some sort that probably got waxed over many times over the years. The built up wax can be difficult to dissolve. I used regular wax cutting household cleaner and a stiff...

    Actual weight of 19/22 Angler?

At the lower left of the home page is a link to the factory site. The specs on the two boats list the hulls as 1650 and 1700, 50 lbs diff. They have the same tanks and very similar power options, trailer weight would be similar and your gear and crew the same, so you are correct that it's...

    Monitoring House Bank/Charging System

So the little Vector plug in volt meter came in the mail today. Didn't want to uncover the boat and all so I plugged it in the F250 06 6.0 diesel. Battery reading was 12.5v. Lit the glow plugs and cranking the meter came down to 9.3v. After starting, the meter raised steadily to 14.4v over...

    Something Electrical Messed Up Again...

Better yet, I don't think you want to see a voltage drop greater than 3% from output to business end. In measuring drop, it would be important to know what the charger is putting out initially if it has a scaling trickle feature.

    Something Electrical Messed Up Again...

The rule is generally that bigger is always better (as far as electrical wire at least) but your current wire will likely be ok, just not as fast of charge as a larger gauge would provide. I think what I would attempt to do is measure the voltage output of the charger at the battery end of the...

    Boatbuckle retractable transom tie downs

I have a pair of SS on my trailer. So does a friend. Easy to use, very easy to synch down tight and release with one lever. Unfortunately only been on for about 6 months so I can't speak to durability. West Marine carries them, sometimes on sale, but very expensive anyway. I think mine were...

    Monitoring House Bank/Charging System

Who knows how much accuracy to expect out of a 7 buck item, but I think I'm going to try one of these as a simple monitor of at least the relative condition of the house bank. Too simple to work I suppose. Chris http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Vector-1 ... ccessories

There is a recent thread on this on thehulltruth (electronics). Since the OP is in AK, I assume it's not your post.
  13. Cooler holder for rack.
Used 2 36" x 1/4 brass threaded rodsfrom H.D. (each cut in half to make 4. Used 1/4 SS cap nuts on front 1/4 ss nylock nuts on back.
Used 1/2" sced. 40 PVC as top seperator.
Drilled a couple 7/8" holes in the bottom and used 18"x1/2 threaded PVC risers with twist on caps (spaced and located so they can be placed through any 2 rungs on the ladder/rack, so that cooler can be placed anywhere on rack to maximize boat balance and or rear view. I used 7/8" wood (just because I had it) 1/2" starboard would likely be more durable but this will last a long time. May need to notch for the spring latch so that it can fit far left.

    Something Electrical Messed Up Again...

You should be able to check the battery voltage on an individual battery that is it's own separate bank not under load without disconnecting. Any batteries that are connected parallel would show equalized voltage if tested without disconnecting. To check those individually it would be necessary...

    Something Electrical Messed Up Again...

Those little $3 multi-meters from Harbor Freight are worth their weight in gold when it comes to tracking down voltage/battery/alternator problems. I keep one in every battery carrying doohickey I have. If you have 110v at the charger plug but then nothing after it, the charger would be my...

    Boat Cover Support Pole Placement

Harper, I just had one more idea for a no stretch solution on this for you to throw on your list. A piece of chain about 8 feet long, 2 carabiners and one anchor shackle and a 30' x 2" ratcheting cargo strap. Put a caribiner at each end of the chain and the anchor shackle in the middle link...
