Advice need on proper chain for a mooring.

Hey everyone, hope you summer is going well. I’m looking for a little advice on chain for a mooring. I have a 300 lb anchor I’ll be dropping to secure a mooring buoy in about 35’ of water in a protected cove south of Bellingham. All my research says to go with 1 ½ times the depth of the water...

How much weight needed to secure mooring ball for CD 22

I own a C-Dory 22 and recently moved to a house that’s just above the south end of Chuckanut Bay. There’s a beach just below the house where many of the neighbors have put out mooring balls. I’m looking for suggestions on how much weight I need to put down to secure the C-Dory on the ball over...

    Decisions, decisions...

I installed a 7610 this summer and love it. Easy to use and intuitive. Look for a deal with a discounted Vision charts, worth the extra $ if just for the auto-guidance. Plug in your start point, end point, and minimum depth, and the most direct route is calculated automatically in one step...

In Need of a Kayak Rack Concept

Lots of great ideas! I wanted to be able to carry 4 or more full size kayaks at a time, so it had to be really sturdy. I made a set of mounts from that plastic material that comes in sheets (like a cutting board), cut and drilled them so they could be attached to the grab rails with u-bolts...

    08/21 - 08/23 - Bellingham, WA

Plan on Andy and Audrey from Lumpsucker (formerly Minnie Swann) to attend the Saturday evening potluck. Lumpy, as we call her, is moored in Bellingham at Gate 8, so no need for dock space. Look for us Friday evening or Saturday morning as we pass by the dock on our way to drop the crab pots...

Anchor Roller for Rocna 13 lb

I don't have a winch, but I do have a 22 with a 22# Rocna and upgraded the bow roller to this: http://www.fisheriessupply.com/lewmar-d ... s-66840009 Works absolutely perfect and is the perfect size for that anchor. I believe they make a shorter version that may work for the smaller anchor. Andy

    Dutch Harbor to Kodiak

Proof I've been living my life right. Got an email a week ago from my girlfriends father who is crossing from Hawaii on the family sailboat. He said if we could get to Dutch Harbor the first couple days of July we could hitch a ride to Kodiak. How can you pass that up! Two weeks and 800 miles in...
