    Water levels on lake powell

Well, there are places to launch off the beach, especially with a four wheel drive truck. I have seen boats launch at Lone Rock before Wahweap on the way in from Utah. Where there is a will there is a way. Sure would be nice to be alone on the lake. Good hunting on this one or come to Mead and...

    Hydronic heat?

Hard to beat a pot or pan to heat everyday water. On our last sailboat we used large insulated bottles to hold a days worth of water, sometimes we made more hot water at dinner but we tended to eat a big middle of the day meal and snack at dinner time. Showers were always outside the boat cabin...

    Is 75 enough

I know this has been hashed over before but I am overly cautious. There is more boat and equipment for sale than motor here on this one. I think the 75 was a 90 block depending on the year. This is a re-power for sure, the motor is in very clean shape and I see no bottom paint in the pictures...

    Is 75 enough

There is a listing for a 1998 22 with a 75 hp Honda. Engine hours are too low to consider an early repower and the price at $29,500 makes an move today a bit expensive. Is 75 hp enough? The boat is well equipped and in very nice shape for a 1998. The motor has a Permatrim but no trim tabs on the...

New way to get rid of mussels at Lake Powell

Here at Lake Mead and at many fresh water locations the boats getting powerwashed are not bottom painted. The hard paints that are not ablative work much better, you can bottom clean off the softer paints early as I learned the hard way on my first sailboat. What I see them kick about on...

New way to get rid of mussels at Lake Powell

I agree that it is frustrating when the government does not do the job we had hoped for but Lake Mead is my lake, not theirs, and so a clean boat is my job which they may or may not help out with along the way. You can buy a small gasoline driven pressure washer with a propane water heater, add...

C-22 without shore power - will I regret it? Easy to add?

I had a Cape Dory 36 and did not like the shore power plug on the cabin side. I changed over to a plug inside the boat just below and to the right of a port light of which there were many. No corosion of any kind after 5 years +. I also had another boat where the shore power cord was hard wired...

    Dreaded Click

How can it be that a little starter can cost $700? A starter for my 2006 V8 Tundra is $89. I can have it to my door with free shipping in 24 hours or less. I can drive to the dealer and pick it up in 20 minutes. Something not right and I an economist and understand scaled production and foreign...
