    16' C Dory in Baltimore

I agree marti. At that price you could have it shipped out west and still be ahead of the game.

takes a licking and keeps on cruising

They get pretty excited around Mystery Bay. There is some "interesting" stuff stored in those bunkers.

takes a licking and keeps on cruising

When you get within a couple hundred yards of any ship in the fleet at Bremerton there will be an armada of CG and Navy patrol boats that will descend on you. I pushed the envelope one day and several appeared out of nowhere. Got right up to me and chewed.

takes a licking and keeps on cruising

Go over to Bremerton and pass by the bows of some of the active ships and test your theories. Been there, done that.

Astoria to the San Juans? Best month for soft ocean?

Did that trip this year in my Cape Dory sailboat. Left Portland on may 31. Got to Westport on June 2, high winds on the nose. Left Westport on June 3, got to within 20 miles of LaPush and seas built to 8 feet and had to turn around and sail back to Westport. Stuck there for 5 days. Finally...

Videos on Restoration of a Cal 40 50 years old.

Would have loved to have had one when I was a little younger. Settled for a Mull ranger but boats of that era were special. Narrower, heavier, more seakindly. That boat will be spectacular for years to come.

    electrical tips

I had a friend that worked many years as an electrician, lineman, and for a local power company. He tested the voltage in an old house I had that had the post and wire layout that old houses had. He showed me how to touch the ends of two wires to two adjacent fingers to test for voltage and it...

C-Brats: Have you ever owned a VW bus/camper?

A well used 68 Westphalia, then a new 1972 camper. Worked good if you didn' t mind slow. Would go anywhere. Once shot an elk, hoisted it up in a tree, backed the camper up to it and slid it into the bed.

    Arima to C-Dory - advice?

I would think the arima would pound a little less than the c dory but you would get a drier ride. If I had to make a regular trip out to the islands in a reasonable amount of time I would go with a small sea sport or something similar. Weight and the v make it a whole lot nicer, to a point...

    Stepping Over to a CD-16 from a CD-22 at 74?

I will probably be purchasing a 16 this winter or next spring. Wish I had kept the 16 cruiser I bought in 2006. Loved the 22 but at 70 it seems like the 16 would make life a lot simpler.

Over the side rail ladder. Thanks for input

Whatever you use, make sure the stand-off posts are as long as possible. When boarding the boat heels some and your weight will force the ladder into the boat and you will find your weight hanging out too far for easy boarding. Been there, fought that. Finally tied a big fender on the inside...

    dry storage in anacortes

I know a few of you have stored your c dorys on the hard in Anacortes for the winter and was wondering where you stored it and approximate costs. I am thinking of taking my sailboat out of the water late next fall and putting it in storage till the following spring. Anacortes seemed like a...
