    Northwest Marine

The C-Dory site looks much the same as it did years ago When Fluid Marine was the builder, none of the recent updates are listed. As a purchaser of a 2013 Venture I can tell you that the bottom and transom are foam cored for sure. The interior cores depend on where you drill. The section...

Repowering - OB Dealer Recommendations in PNW?

I agree with the comments above regarding Sportcraft in Portland. Ryan and all of the support staff are helpful, easy to work with, know what they're doing (important these days), and are very competitive on pricing. All good!

    New Venture Hull Shape

Roger, the Venture 23 can be ordered without the upgraded interior, Refer, water heater, stove, even AC Shore power can be deleted. NWMI will customize the boat as the buyer desires. We ordered our 23V October of 2012 and took delivery in January 2013. The builder worked with Sportcraft in...

    New Marinaut Finally Home

I echo the comments above. Beautiful boat with great sea keeping ability. My one question is: did you go with the Venture aluminum or the EZ loader galvanized trailer? Your boat is pictured on each.

    leak in bow

My vote is for an anchor locker drain that is not properly sealed (salt water leaks in between the outer hull and the locker as boat travels through the water).

    23 Venture performance numbers.

I think that Forrest is right in that the CC hull design of the 23V and 26M may have less hull resistance when powered through the water. Too many owners have posted MPG numbers equal to or greater than those achieved by the 22. I hope to run accurate "real world" checks on our 23V powered by...

    gelcoat repair

Jim, We have a 23v (2013) in the Nomad color. Try contacting the factory for a source where you can purchase some. I know for sure that it is available.

What's your definition of "PISSED OFF"?!?!?!

You can add Pooderbuilt (now PDR in Bellingham) to the do not call list. Their fabrication of my stern rail on our new 23V arrived twisted so badly that I had to rework it. One leg was 1/4" shorter than the other three and one of the flat washers used in the fabrication of the rail base had a...

Norcold reefer on C-Dory 22 Cruiser

Here is link to Nova Kool manual covering installation considerations for their refrigerators. Hope that this helps you (if you select Nova Kool). Their chart on wire sizing lists a 20 ft. run as the upper limit for 10 ga. wire which is why I went with 8ga. for our unit. It is the transient...

Norcold reefer on C-Dory 22 Cruiser

I echo Marc's comments on Novakool. They are top quality and use Danfoss compressors (very quiet and reliable). Also, you might consider Isotherm. We have a R3000 Novakool that I installed on our 23 Venture and we are very pleased. If you have shore power and a battery charger on board...

    Build quality

I agree with Peter, NMI is building a very high quality boat. IMHO our new 23V is the best built C-Dory that we've owned and that includes Reynolds and Toland boats. As for repairs, all I can say is that they stand behind the Triton and NMI built boats without question and they are nice...

New combination VHF radio, AIS reciever/Hailer

Great radio! I purchased one in January at the SBS. Check J&G Marine in Tacoma (253-572-4217) as for the Ken (the owner). I paid $329 ($279) after rebate. Maybe he will still honor that price.

New member, researching C25 and V26

Adam, I don't know first hand about how well foam cores hold up when exposed to water but I did find some foam segments that had drifted from Japan to the Oregon coast and they were not mushy at all (good shape unfortunately). You have received good advice from earlier posts. Stop by and see...

    Power Trailer Dolly

We have a Power Mover (a 4 wheeled model-1/2 HP Dayton Motor) that we've used with various boats and trailers for the past 10 years. Ours is a good unit, no problems, frame mount socket. The unit seems to move about anything that one can attach it to (our largest load was about 10,000 lbs.)...

New CD-25 Kid On The Block

Peter, Great looking boat and equipped the way you like....sounds like a great purchase to me. Congratulations!

    Strange fuel valve.

Mike, I have the same issue as you and your boat was built just before our 23V. You're right in that the selector doesn't match the label. I also removed the selector and found that the Port and Starboard inlets are at 180 degrees, not the 90 marked on the label (Seasense valves were 90...

    Guest 2610A Charger

David, Here is a link to West Marine and the Mastervolt Power Charger that Dr. Bob mentioned. I think that it will be a very easy swap for the Guest. It has posts for the wires like your Guest and is close to the same size. Note: it is not water proof and must be mounted in a dry location...

    Triton now Northwest Marine Industries?

All of this is quite interesting except that no one seems to have contacted Northwest Marine Industries or any of the dealers to find out the real story. 1. Name change In March 2013 from Triton to Northwest. 2. Scott Boysen is no longer with the company. 3. Ron Wright seems to be managing very...

window cover snap to fabric question

Jake, The stainless snaps are much more difficult to set in fabric using an inexpensive tool. The difference in the end product is distortion in the button cover when set with a driver or vise grip type tools. My advice would be to purchase the fabric through Sailrite and shop for the snaps...
