    towing 22 cruiser with Tacoma

For a short while, we towed our 22 over the Oregon coast range with a 1996 Toyota T100, V6, automatic. Probably the same engine as the Tacoma. It wasn’t peppy, and it was a rough ride, but it worked. My biggest concern was emergency stopping. From Bellingham to the ferry, I suspect you’ll be...

Jay, thanks for reminding me about Tohatsu! That they are lighter than others would be great. I may need to do a little more research.

    Repowering a Tinnie

Thank you all for the input! I hadn’t realized the Hondas were still carbureted, and Dr. Bob made the choice easy, I’m staying in the Suzuki camp. I hope all have a wonderful 2024. Thanks again!

    Repowering a Tinnie

I’m still looking for a nice 16 cruiser, but thinking about repowering my Gregor 14.5 skiff for use on the local ponds and Snake River impoundments. After talking to Larry Bigbee at Sportcraft about a 25 or 30 horse tiller engine, I’m undecided about going with Honda, or with a Suzuki. Both...

going to buy a dory, trying to decide which model.

Sandra, regardless of which CDory you choose, consider installing a composting toilet instead of a Marine head with holding tank. Our new dirt boat (Oliver travel trailer) has a Nature’s Head, and it is so much cleaner and simpler than having to dump or pump out a holding tank. Liquids are...

How do you convert the table to a berth? 2008 cdory 22

The table has to want to convert. :smiled Humor aside, you need to slide the front seat forward. Probably a latch or two somewhere that need to be released. Secure the latches so the seat can’t move. Next, unfold and secure the table top. Followed by releasing what ever supports it in the...

    Overheating Outboard on Flushing Muffs

You might consider using a flush bag. It’s a bit more time consuming, but the engine is doing the circulation work without additional pressure from the hose. I don’t recall who made mine, but can dig it out if needed

    THANK YOU DR. BOB

Bob and Marie, Allow Diana and me to also say thanks for the years of friendship, mentoring, and boating with you two wonderful people. It’s been fun and educational! We send our sincere hopes that you get those additional years to boat as much as you please. Kindest Regards, Diana and Steve

    2022 Erie Canal

Bob, in the Airstream community, the Marathons have a horrible reputation. I suspect a lot of that is due to negligence on the part of the owner. Most people I know are now running Goodyear Endurance, and the dissatisfaction noise has subsided significantly. IIRC, they are rated for higher...
