I just checked my email and had several notifications of posts too. Any chance they got our email addresses or info from that hack/spam? And I just got a ??spam? call claiming to be VA while I was typing this. :( Harvey SleepyC :moon\

Pics of Shrimping and Crabbing Rigs on C-Dory...

Patrick, Good to see you back (here and PNW). We need another "round table" sometime, but It would have to end before 0200. I'm well past punkin stage by then. Harvey SleepyC :moon

    08/26 - 08/28 - Cathlamet, WA, Columbia River 2022

It all depends on where on the Columbia River you are. East of the Cascades, (HoodRiver and The Dalles) can be well into the 80's plus for high. Lows to 50's over night. West of the Cascades will be cooler, and on the water, more possibilities of fog early in the day. Harvey SleepyC :moon

    SE Alaska group cruise 2022

Missed a couple of days dealing with "trailer boating life" ( poorly installed new brakes but I think it is all fixed now. Really enjoy following. I can't imagine running without knowing the distance to the bottom (depth) so glad you got that taken care of. Harvey SleepyC :moon

    Lake Powell Rock Fall

Yes, That is very cool video. Good not to be too close under that. I have considered that when anchoring in the Broughtons. (I heard a slide one evening, but it was around a corner from where I was. On one trip I say the result of a slide of about a half mile high and a 200 yards wide (again...

    The most C-Dory's anyones had?

I like that too. The font that "SleepyC" is done in on the boat is Encore. Chosen for 2 reasons. It is large easily readable with no sharp points or fine lines AND It came after the other boats, with no intention of doing any more. Harvey SleepyC :moon

    The most C-Dory's anyones had?

Well this makes me feel good. I am just one better than none. Bought my first C-Dory 22 Cruiser 16 years ago. Got a good vaccination against the 2 or 3 foot itis, and have been very happy with one C-Dory. Had multiple boats prior, still have some but the sailboat is gone (after 4 years) and...

    manual windshield wipers

If I was starting from scratch on the electric wipers, I would look for something with more like an automotive control, 2 or 3 speed and or with some time delay, and then a switch so they could both be on the same control, or could independently be on. Like, main control on and passenger side...

    c dory 22 composting head

several years ago I slipped while launching and broke a couple ribs on my right side. (YES OUCH) I had been sleeping in the V-birth, head aft, and on my right side. No way I could do that --> get in turn around and then lay on the right side :disgust SO, since I had to sleep, and was...

    Our Next Upgrade?

You might want to carry a little Jump start kit, just in case. I have only used mine to start other peoples cars, truck, and one boat --> NOT mine. Harvey SleepyC :moon

    charter plotter suggestion

Here's an idea. Borrowed from a friend. Keep the thru hull 'ducer and set it up to a depth gauge by itself on the dash. Then add a new (fancy) transom mounted transducer with a new Raymarine Plotter. Provides a bit of redundancy and less likely to loose depth function on the through hull...

Best Dinghy for a 22' (for a big clumsy dog)

Well not exactly,, but this is one tough "dingy", and is plenty stable side to side and end to end. The Alaskan is a doughnut boat, as in the inflation tubes go all around the circumference Which means it rows and/or paddles like a pig on ice, but it is stable with an inflatable floor. For the...

Adding additional tail, brake & signaling lights

Bringing this back as I am actually getting started on getting this project done. Wondering if anyone has pictures, or part numbers. I have collected some parts, including an 8 ft aluminum channel to mount the lights in/on and a 45 foot 7 wire cord to run from the "Y" at the truck to the light...

    c dory 22 composting head

I single hand too, and have really considered that option, only not in the V-birth, I sleep there. I have considered putting it in the cabin, port side under that aft bench seat where the water tank is. I would loose some storage space, and have to move that water tank (15 gal I believe), but...

No Go zones in the San Juans and Gulf Islands

There may or may not be an Orca escort vessel along with the whales. If so, they will let you know if you are in an area where the Orca are. If you ignore them, you will be photographed and could be ticketed. Harvey SleepyC :moon

    navigation system

You are selling the whole package. I would concur with the 1500 to 1900 as being reasonable. I sold C-120 plotter, charts and radar and it went quick and easy for 1/3rd of that and it was a good deal. It went to a local Brat so it was fine with me. To have a full package, fully working is a...

Considering the purchase of a C-Dory?

I don't have Face(plant) either but I think you can find it by searching YouTube fore "Trip Smith C-Dory Lightening strike". That yielded this link and his video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GO0VKeaAsUA Harvey SleepyC :moon

    Coleman Oven

Hey Sandy, WOW that is really good looking bread. I used to do sourdough bread and pancakes but haven't for many years. And you are right, it needs to be fresh. No way to buy that at a grocery store. Harvey SleepyC :moon
