    Legend has passed

Thats tough news to hear, but we carry memories of that smile and welcoming attitude for sure. Still have pins for our boating nametags and wish the family the best. His last moments being outside in the open air is an enviable detail in our book. Best wishes, Lang Family, Greg, Cindie...

    Porta potty for a 22

We have owned 3 Dometic 986 models and they are a perfect fit with larger 5 gal holding tank size. Compressed air flush is also nice. My ladies always liked it better than a couple of other models we had. Darn thetford curve model with power flush wont fit with cusion in place. Greg

electric c-dory and speed with kickers

We once had a 4hp yamaha four stroke based on the same motor as the 6ph unit, and that was mounted up to a few hulls while we owned it and I think is was about the required amount of thrust for making hull speed in a 19/22. I have also used a 2.5hp suzuki on the 19 hull and it doesn't quite get...

    most comfortable pfd

We tried a few over the last 14 years, but our onyx units are by far the most comfy around the neck. I can actually stand to wear them without a collar, or my shirt pulled up. We like this model which has room for compact VHF, or phone, plus flares and smoke in the other pocket...

    high wind: anchoring aches

I would try adding at least another 10ft of chain to your rode for better holding and a plow shape like our rocna has done better in weeds for us that either of the two others you mentioned. We use 35ft of 1/4in chain and wouldnt use much less for challenging conditions. Greg

    05/13 - 05/16 - Friday Harbor CBGT 2021

Nobody Jim, as the rules have changed a bunch again in the last year, plus I manage a whole fleet of the devices for the Government now, and fly under a commercial license at all times which follows airspace rules instead of the older proximity rules. With a DJI device in that location, only...

    refrigeration in the PNW

Still here and good tip about evaporative cooling. Saves me a lot of suffering in the form of a specialized vest when I am motorcycling in hot conditions. The not so little teenager in the house has been cutting into our boating for a couple of years now, because she has her own passions...

    refrigeration in the PNW

I totally respect the folks who live simply on their boats and make due perfectly well with simple solutions or careful planning or a combination of both. We have done a few multiday trips using the simple approach, but kept leaning generally in the direction of optimizing the option of having...

Increased towing capacity? 16' to 19'

I worked hard to balance and minimize our towing weight by tuning our trailer components with a hitch scale and changing boat position, but it was hard to get the hitch weight under 300lbs while preserving higher speed stabilty and control in various conditions. I did push it and went too light...
