    anchor roller selection

We also use the Pivoting Self-Launch Roller. It works really well. The other thing about this type of roller is that the anchor rides a lot lower When it is up, allowing for better viability while running.

    Hondas and their themostat housings

After a long trip in the salt or mooring our boat in salt for a few weeks, I flush the motor through the flush port for half hour and then I run the motor in a 100 gallon stock tank with salt away. I let it run for about a half hour and then let it soak in the salt away tank over night. The next...

Are the panels blocking the tank required?

I took those panels out of ours when we first got it 7 or 8 yeqrs ago. Just seems like excess weight to me. I like being able to see my fuel level clearly and provides easy access to change fuel filter and a little extra storage room for soft items on top of the tanks. The poly tanks are pretty...

Entry/Exit Cockpit Steps for 22 Cruiser

Not too long ago someone was looking for entry/Exit steps for their cockpit. While I have no leads on a store bought set of steps I thought I would share the steps that I made for our boat. They hang on the gunnel and lift off easily. they are never in the way but always there when you need them...

Do I need bottom paint for 60-90 days in Puget Sound?

We took at trip to princess Louisa and desolation sound a few years ago and after three weeks in the water I was shocked to find barnacle growth completely covering the bottom and quite a bit up the sides and transom too. Areas and marinas that have low exchange rate and high temperatures can...

    Hub rear seal leaking

I love the Dexter easy lube axles on my land trailers. Just jack the wheel off the ground and spin the wheel while you pump new grease in to it. I have never had them on a boat trailer and don't think I would ever want them as there is too much potential for water intrusion. If I had a boat...

    Hub rear seal leaking

I've worked worked on a few trailers too. I don't like grease leaking out or water leaking in, so I installed them all the way around on ours.

    Hub rear seal leaking

If your spindle is worn you may need one of these repair sleeves to make it fit tight again. https://www.trailerpartsdepot.com/shop/ ... 0600#attr= This one may not be the right size for your spindle but they make them in all sizes and they press on over the existing spindle.

White pastes I see on water hoses, sewer hoses, and such?

Standard pipe thread Teflon pipe sealant is often used on barbed fittings. It does two things. It acts as a lubricant to help a tight hose slide over the barb and it also helps to seal the fitting once it is clamped tight.

Fresh water wash down made simple

My electric wash down pump does 5.5 gallons a minute. This dual action diaphragm foot pump does 4 gal per minute and fits in the same place as the original rubber pump. It is not comparable to the standard rubber foot pump in performance.

Fresh water wash down made simple

    PNW Current Chart App

I just got this the other day and haven't used it on the water. I seem to be able to zoom OK, good enough to see what it is showing. Entire date shows clearly on bottom left and if you tap it calendar appears to select different date. Time shows clearly on bottom right and if you click on it you...

    PNW Current Chart App

So, I just came across this current chart app for San Juans and Gulf Islands. It is the same info that is in the Waggoneer current tables in a phone app. Cost $20 and gives you Current data with or without internet and the one time fee covers you forever. Or at least as long as their in...
