    No More Politics

Perhaps we should change the name of "That's Life" to "The Airing of the Grievances" and simply not allow any posts at all on it.

    vaccination

I got a text message from the VA with a phone number to call. I called the number and the lady asked, "can you come tomorrow at 1:30?". I went, got the shot, sat in observation for 15 minutes, and got my second shot scheduled for Feb. 12 at 1:30. Thank you VA.

Well, I dissent. OK, I know this not a vote. Of course I will go along with this new policy. Frankly, since we won, I should be happy about it. But I'm not. The serious discussions that went on on this site were knowledgeable and heartfelt on both sides. Truth be told, I learned a lot. In fact...

    Chuck Yeager

We do not praise our heroes because they were perfect people. It is because they have accomplished extraordinary feats or lived exemplary lives. Yes our countries have made some terrible foreign policy blunders along the way. But we have a right to recognize the good, the great things done in...

Some years ago there was a German documentary film maker on here posting his adventures going up river on his 22 footer in the Yukon or NWT I think it was.I do remeber that Lake Athabaska was involved. I really did enjoy following him day to day . At the end of his journey he sold the boat up...

Jim and the Blond (former owners of Wild Blue)

Well Jim, when I first read this thread I was deeply concerned. Your earlier blog posts added to my anxiety. However, I just finished your Dec. 4 blog entry and I breathed a sigh of relief through my laughter. A grateful "Jim's back, that man can write", I said out loud to no one in particular...

    Electoral college?

Lots of people feel as you do . I am not one of them. But I do think, however, when a thread veers into politics it should be moved to the "that's life" forum.

    Electoral college?

Now, I do agree with that. It was in Miss Harden's class called "Problems of American Democracy" in 1952 where I voted for Dwight David Eisenhower, the last republican I ever voted for. (I have always been impressed with high ranking officers that wear just one row of ribbons). Believe it or...
