A Pleasant Surprise at Decatur Island!

I love these "pleasant surprise" stories. I had as similar surprise a couple months ago when i heard from the fellow who bought our 22 footer Miss Mirth. It has been several years and it was good to hear about how his kids have grown and all the fishing adventures they had on the boat.

    Finger Lakes/West Erie Canal Adventure

Yup Cornell is "far above Cayuga's waters". If you get up there again go to the front desk in Willard Straight Hall and hook up with a campus tour. Walk across the suspension bridge. Kiss your wife in the middle of the bridge. If you don't the bridge will fall into the gorge. Ithaca is of...

    16 Angler bimini top

Well, here's a partial bimini and camperback we had on our 16. I know it's not for everybody but we, Dotty and I, really liked it. I saw it as a cabin extender. It even served as a semi-private head when I dropped down the "door" at the back of the cabin and the "door" at the back of the bimini.

What's Seattle really like these days?

Your comment moved me to tears. I just returned from the VA hospital on Beacon Hill in Seattle. In past years I was always sad to see junky RV's in the surrounding parking lots. Today I saw tents lining the outer fence of the complex. Now, I don't mind litter. I'm from NJ after all. In 1995...

What's Seattle really like these days?

Well, to hopefully answer your question, Here's what we did when we moved out here. For the first couple of years we rented a modest three bedroom apartment with a detached garage. We lived in one bedroom, had one for guests and one filled to the brim with our stuff. We were right next to a...

I think Pat is right. But I also think this catharsis has been healthy. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

What's Seattle really like these days?

As a public health field person in NJ I have worked in "bad neighborhoods" in Newark, Camden, Paterson and Jersey City to name a few. I was walking up the urine stained stairway of a high rise housing project in Newark when the riots and fires broke out in the '60's. All those buildings were...

What's Seattle really like these days?

Well, I have lived on the Eastside(Sammamish) for 20 years and I think it is as close to heaven as I will ever get. I don't commute, but there are plenty of Park and Rides. When I took the bus into Seattle for jury duty it took about 20 minutes during morning rush hour. In the the surrounding...

We, my wife Dotty, Mickey, and I were all members of the Cornell Committee Against Segregation. Dotty and Mickey were in the same class, '61, at the Ag school. They would often study together in Mann library, . The class of '61 donated a stained glass window to Sage Chapel dedicated to the...
