    05/08 - 05/11 - 2025 Friday Harbor C-Brats Get-Together

C-Traveler arrived Wednesday morning around 10. Sleepy C and Hunky Dory (jay) came in about the same time. There were a few other C-Dorys as well. Winds picked up later in the day, and were just howling through here Wednesday evening! C-Traveler at Eagle Harbor, Cypress Island How to...

    Boat lettering

While I've used Lettering.com in the past, and was happy with them, I found another company through Boat US that seem to do a great job.

Does anyone have a 12" round fender that they would like to trade for a 20" round fender? If so, I"ll bring the one I found up at Lake Powell with me to the gathering. If you've been reading my blog, you can see it's a pretty nice one. If I don't have any interest, I'll leave it back in my...

    05/08 - 05/11 - 2025 Friday Harbor C-Brats Get-Together

Hi Dale, I'm planning to park it at another C-Brats. But normally I use Cap Sante Marina in Anacortes. I've never had a problem with parking there, even for a couple weeks. I believe it's $6/night. And the sling launch works out pretty slick in keeping the trailer out of the salt water. I...

They ARE trailerable boats! My travels

Thanks for the responses. Cell service here is spotty, but if you can see Navajo Mountain, you can usually get service. My photos don't do justice to the beauty that surrounds us. And while many of the canyons are shorter than in the past, there is still plenty of water in the Lake! A few more...

I’m also already on the water! At Lake Powell! But will be at Friday Harbor in time for the gathering. In the meantime you can follow my blog here on my time in both places. https://findpenguins.com/77ono0cdqci52/ ... ll-and-pnw

They ARE trailerable boats! My travels

I know there are some that enjoy following some of my adventures. I already spend way too much time uploading to my own Facebook page, but because a few of my family members do not have Facebook, I also started using FindPenquins to blog my trips. I'm heading out tomorrow to spend some time on...

    Guest multi bank charger

That’s hooked together in series I believe for 24 vts. However I’ve got them tied together in parallel for 12 vts and it works just as well. I believe you only have one set of monitor lights anyway for the two 5 amp posts.

    Guest multi bank charger

I have two of those exact same Guest chargers. I replaced them with Mastervolt. (The first from my 22, the second from my 25). I now use those guest chargers in my shed and garage for charging my tractor or any other batteries. I have the two 5 amp posts tied together. (Same thing as hooking...

And Tyboo, you are correct as well. I could have sworn when I read the information I googled last night, it said even non-residents....But I should have known better. Thanks again to both of you for pointing it out. Saved my $10 as I was ready to just get the California card!

Paint color match for White / Blue 2008 22 Cruiser?

I've found that Rustoleum Painters Touch 2X Ultra Cover Heirloom White, comes pretty damn close. Also, Rust-Oleum American Accents 2X Ultra Cover “Gloss Navy Blue”, is somewhat close. If you feather out the blue, it's harder to notice. Neither are a perfect match. The white comes closer...

    Webasto Heater Installation

That might be an option. But I'm leaning more into leaving things alone, or placing a through hull next to the heater to draw air in from outside. Still have mixed feelings about it.

    Webasto Heater Installation

Hmmm, perhaps then I"m best leaving the setup alone... Just looking to keep outside moisture from coming in, and also keeping the cold air out at night when temps are below freezing.

Bob, you are correct. I jumped the gun a bit. While the main page on California's new boating card law makes it sound like even non-residents need the card, which is BS if the case, I did look a little farther. Once you get to their Q&A page: https://californiaboatercard.com/faqs-2/ It has...

Wow Jim. Sucks that California did that. I have both a USCG boaters card and another private boating safety class card. Crazy that California wants their own stuff....probably a way for them to make money off of boaters. It's time we just have a federal card for those of us that boat in...
