    Travel Sucks !

Nice! Closest I ever came to an iron butt was 2021 miles in 3 days. It was the 2001 Trail of Tears ride from Chattanooga to Oklahoma. That was right after 9/11...and there were huge crowds of folks lining hwy 73 most of the way...lots of flags! Did it on my Electraglide. I just had to dip down...

    Here we go again!

Jo and I are not as fortunate as those of you that almost "live" on the water, but we do enjoy our mini cruises. We had originally planned to do a coastal ICW trip in SC the latter part of July, but the timing clashed with Jo's boss's vacation plans, so we moved the date ahead to June 27th thru...

    Travel Sucks !

Ah yes...it's all coming back to me now. We drove from NC to Maryland almost 2 years ago, hurrying so we'd have enough daylight for a full visual inspection (the boat was cheap...and we wanted to know why). Got there an hour before dark, looked great, the hull just needed a good cleaning, berth...

    LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES 6/15/2009

Jo and I will be watching this thread closely. We plan to launch in Georgetown, SC July 11th for a week on the ICW... the Cumberland is our back-up plan in case of coastal weather problems.

    C-Dory Reviews/Articles/Brochures

I agree C-Wannabe! Years ago...I saw a C Dory in a hard copy of "Boat Trader". My jaw dropped on looks alone. Then I googled "c dory" and El and Bill's site was the first thing that popped up. I read for about half an hour, then ran to get the wife and show her what our next boat was gonna look...

? Where to buy good eggs ?

We refrigerate ours, and they come in green, and light brown! :smilep We let the hens free range a fenced area each afternoon that's half grass, and half wooded area. They seem to like the wooded area best (scratch-n-eat). They retreat to the coop at dusk. We can't tell the difference in the...

? Where to buy good eggs ?

We just got several laying hens a couple of months ago...there's a huge difference in the eggs we get...and the store bought variety. One fella that works for me said that the commercial farms pump so much junk into their hens that some of them lay more than a few eggs per day! Our home grown...

    Does anyone ever "downsize"?

Maybe I should just talk the wife into a swim step solar shower, power flush port-a-potty, and several thousand dollars worth of gas money. :D

    Does anyone ever "downsize"?

We've decided to sell our camper at the lake, mainly due to the fact that it kinda interferes with our desire to "cruise". Paying a lot lease for a camper when we have a "floating" camper just doesn't make much sense. So does it make any sense to advertise our 22 angler for trade-up to a 25...

    Netbooks

I recently purchased a HP 2140 for an "on the go" netbook after reading a LOT of netbook/mini notebook reviews. Very happy with it so far. The keyboard for it's size was the selling point for me (85%) but I did end up also getting a bluetooth mouse since I didn't like the key pad mouse. The...

    credit card meltdown

My B of A business card hasn't suffered any fee or limit changes, and it's a US Airways points card...still get the same ratio of points to $, but the available use of said points for airline tickets has been restricted quite a bit. As I type...the restrictions are typically such that points...

    credit card meltdown

My GE Bank MasterCard went from a $10k limit to a $1k limit last year. Like you, I never carry a blance. I got no warning! A friend that works in credit told me that the CC companies started slashing limits to try to minimize possible default losses. This followed closely behind the mortgage...
