    Seller's remorse

Spent the past couple of days getting "Thelma-Lou" all cleaned up and ready to show. The potential new owner is driving 1500 miles to see her on Tuesday. It's been hard, knowing that the prep is being done to promote a sale, rather than our next adventure. So many memories floating around the...

A deposit has been received, sale pending, subject to inspection.

    1994 22' Angler $19000.00 (Western NC)

We said we'd never sell her, but we now have a carefully designed plan to part with a few toys and pay off our mortgage, then upgrade to a 25 footer hopefully next spring. We have 2 grandsons now (yippie!), so we'll need the extra room of a larger boat. Pictures can be seen in my album. The...

Need advice for Weeki Wachee, FL area

We're heading down to the Weeki Wachee the second week of July. We have a small cabin reserved for the week, and we're taking our kayaks. Had intended to take our newly acquired 12' jon boat...till I tried it out today...no way I'm getting in it with 2 boxers and a clumsy wife, and a clumsy...

    Oil is here

Any predictions for how bad this is gonna get? We have plans to vacation on the Weeki Wachee the 2nd week of July. I wouldn't imagine that the mess would make it into the river unless a storm pushes it, but we're trying to decide whether or not we should take the C Dory for gulf coast day trips...

    Boats you have owned

My first boat was a "kit" boat, 18' aluminum cabin cruiser, built by the city for use on a watershed lake. All aluminum. I was 16, and didn't have the $200...so I asked a friend of mine to go in with me...he did...but didn't tell me that he'd borrowed part of his half from his dad....who a year...

    Motorcycles I've known

SeaSpray said..."In 1986 a friend had a bad bike accident. He did not show up for work and it took us three or four days to find him in a hospital. I sold the Magna and have not owned a bike since. I have considered getting one recently but have not convinced myself that I want to take the...

    Motorcycles I've known

I think I'm a member there, but haven't visited the site in a few years. We're pretty much a "seat of the pants" team, no real sponsors.

    Motorcycles I've known

It goes 137 in a standing mile (land speed racing) not as fast as we'd hoped...BUT...we're now in the process of installing a Buell XR9 engine. The old Ironhead engine had sentimental value, as it was built from junk parts. This is what I started with.... 1997 883 (134mph)

Who was it that made a manometer?

That's it!...thank you very much Tom! (My original search didn't work.)

Who was it that made a manometer?

I found my saved instructions for carb cleaning and synchronizing, but I need the pic of the home made manometer using clear tube and motor oil. Can't remember who it was that posted this info??????? Not CD related...but I just rebuilt the carbs on my "new to me" Mariner 200hp V6....I'm so proud...

Thanks Tracy...it'll be a last minute trip if we do, which isn't uncommon with us :)

    09/25 - 09/27 - North Carolina Gathering

Looks like Jo and I may be out for this gathering. Too many irons in the fire. Our daughter will likely be moving that weekend, and will need our help.

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Went to look at a jon boat dingy for our 22 angler over the weekend. I ended up getting it, but after close measuring, I think it's too big. It's 24' long....and 7'-11" wide....our C Dory will fit "IN" it!

Need some Mariner brand engine advice

Thanks Marc! One of my first questions to the owner was "has the oil injection system been removed?"...it has not. Is this something that you can tell me how to do? I'm assuming that it's not just a matter of plugging oil lines. This is why my pontoon has an Evinrude 88 SPL!

Need some Mariner brand engine advice

Thanks Tom...owner says that the bearings in the jet drive were replaced last year, and a new SS 4 blade impeller was installed. I'll be sure to grease it before we test, as it has been sitting for at least a year.

Need some Mariner brand engine advice

Did that...and googled it...just got me links to repair manuals. Googled reviews for the engine and got nothing worth reading. Most of my knowledge and experience with 2 strokes is with the Evinrude/Johnson family, but none with jet drives. Appreciate the advice though!

Need some Mariner brand engine advice

Going friday to do a possible trade (not trading our C Dory) for a package boat deal that includes a 140hp V6 Mariner jet drive outboard (1997). I'll be checking compression, on the water test run, and water pump flow, but otherwise I know nothing about jet drives or Mariner engines. Does...

    Cape Cruiser ????

Correct me if I'm wrong...but aren't the C Dory 22's and 25's still balsa core, and the Venture series still foam core?
