Hey guys. I am looking to replace the floatation blocks with some new stuff while I am down in the bilge of my Tomcat 24 replacing the tanks. Can you guys give me some suggestions of where to buy new floatation blocks? Thanks!
So I am in the process of finishing up a long overdue 2001 Tomcat 24 rebuild. I sold the two Yamaha 100s that were on there and purchased a pair of 2003 JohnSuki 140s. Unfortunately, I can't give you any real world experience, but I was pretty comfortable in the research that a pair of 140s...
It is tough for storage around here because all the ramps are free and public. Try calling Casey Key Marina in Osprey. I don’t know if they do boat storage, but if they do, it is right across the street from the Blackburn ramp (which is very nice).
That is a good idea. I am going to be painting the entire boat. I always had in mind that I would keep it dark to match bottom paint, but maybe I can match it to the new hull color if I keep it.
Thanks Joe. Your UWAG sounds about right to me. Since these stop half way up the boat, it makes sense that they would be for spray and not bumpers. It is interesting that they went away on the second version of the Tomcat.
Has anybody ever removed this? I find it ugly. Does it serve the purpose of bumper? Spray guard? I don't like how it chops up the lines of the boat and I am wondering if I really need it. I appreciate any input!
The Bikemaster does have a BMS. Definitely worth looking into further, but that is why I picked the Bikemaster over many other options. I will have to find those exact voltage limits.
The Relion 100HP is used all the time as a starting battery for outboards. You can actually find a lot of information about that one online. There are quite a few marinas in Florida that have done many installs with these that could be contacted. 80 usable amp hours and plenty of cranking power...
I am currently in the process of rebuilding a 24 and I am contemplating an all lithium setup. I would really like to keep the weight down. Batteries are a great opportunity to do that. I have an idea, but not something that you see too often. I was thinking about running two starting lithium...
Hey Tim! I am very happy that you posted. Myself and two of my best friends bought this boat to customize it and do a lot of what you do. I just binge watched all of your Youtube videos. My two year old got a real kick out of watching your girls play in the water. I just broke my leg and had...
I just added a step placement picture in my album for what I was thinking. I really like those folding perko steps, but I also like the permanent ones.
