    Anchor Locker Drain

Harvey, I just addressed this same issue and rather than filling the void, cut a triangle piece of thick spastic cutting board and adjusted it's size till it fit rather well against the three walls of the locker with a decided slant to the existing drain hole. Then using epoxy resin with...

    SHRIMPING 2009

We bagged 240 by noon. The first pulls were great and then it slowed down. Morning water was calm and by noon it started to rain and to kick up some swells. Not much of a tide. We were at the usual spot Tom, between Edmonds and Everett on the East side. Where were you two Roger and Tom? On Wed...

A screen door? Where do I get one of those?

At a recent gathering Kathleen and I had the pleasure of seeing Traveler and some of the mods added to her. One very nice add was a canvas matching snap on zipper boot around the cabin door with a screen that could be rolled up to one side when not in use. I have also seen, not sure if it was...

    How ridiculous is this

I can see this case is no case at all and if all the facts are a clear as stated then it is a shame. Unfounded lawsuits run up the cost of insurance and everything we buy. On the other hand, capitalism and some capitalists fail to sell safe or reputable products or services. The fact is that...

    Inexpensive portable bait tank

Tom, have you used the lazarette for live bait? I never have and guessed that the fish would not do well unless it was lined with something that was not toxic to the fish. Also would it work to use a 12v fish tank air pump and then to refresh the water avery so often with the raw water hose?

Tom, will you be setting up shop in Friday Harbor? If so, please count me in for two. Will pay your price or if you require, will negotiate. Shrimp season....shrimp season.... :smiled

    Anchor Locker Drain

Stop. Don't drill another hole. I had the same issue as the drain was not at the lowest point and the hole was not sealed either. I cut a piece of old cutting board to fit the shape of the bow and sized it so when fixed in place the locker drains every drop out the existing drain. I then...

The tide is not a factor at the ramp in Bellingham. The issue with that departure point is Bellingham bay. You DO NOT want to be crossing that bay in the wind. THis wind even on a nice day builds as the morning goes on, so the goal is to get into the islands prior to when that wind and the waves...

    Electronic kicker throttle controls

At the C-brat gathering in Cathlamet, was given a preview of this great device by C-Dawg. For those who do not have their kicker hardwired to the helm in the cabin and do any trolling, this is a great improvement. I got home, called the mfg, www.troll-masterpro.com , placed my order and just...

    Battery switch and house battery

Put the charger under the heater and the house battery under there as well. You should get advice from Aaron at Fife SeaRay if you are going with sealed Gel batteries as he was able to work out the switching, breaker and such, so the system works well with two different size batteries. The...

    More fishing this year!!

Thanks for the update Tom. For those who troll, C-Dawg sold several of us on a remote kicker control which uses a servo and a hand held control box attached by 25' cable. The mfg is www.Troll-Masterpro.com. Price can very based upon the kicker make and model but for the Honda 9.9, its delivered...

Rick, now I can see that my fish though slightly smaller was much better looking. Both were dumb as they come to go for a herring without its head and scented as a sardine and both were attracted, no doubt, to the green underbelly of Capital Sea. Oh and Rick, help me out here. That Tom is such...

This was a great trip and it was good to meet what was for the most part, a new chapter of C-brats (for us). After all of you left Sunday, a meeting was held on the bridge of Capital Sea and after much debate, it was decided not to rename her: FISH MAGNET. An amendment was offered to rename...

Just a note to say thank you to Cdawg for a most generous offer. I am not sure at this point what I will do, but I am sure this was a kind offer.

After all my chit chat, planning, shopping and work shifting, my fishing friend crapped out (90% sure) and with short notice I can't fill the #2 seat for launching or Friday fishing. He had a good reason but crap! So Kathleen and I will show up Friday pre dark and will fish Sat (with the crowds)...

C-dawg, we will see you out there. If your commodore was not intending sleep, how would you fish that morning tide? First mate Kathleen (and as she points out, owner) will not be joining me until Sat evening and in her place will be fishing friend Pat. We have never fished the river but are set...
