    Venture 29 Questions....

I've always liked the 29. While there were some things that could be improved, overall the concept was a good one. I don't see the issue with the head. I sat in the companion seat and didn't find it to be an issue. It's a compromise, but overall it makes the boat feel bigger, and give better...

Is this C -Dory 16 Cruiser a good deal?

At half the price of a new one, it seems like a good value- expecially witn trim tabs and dual batteries.

    Trailer Jack $#%!!!&

The more expensive jacks will hold up much better. Loom for one with a zerk at the top to be bale to grease the gears. Or budget $35 for a new tongue jack each year.

Propping Twins -- for single or twin power

I love these thgeoretical discussions. I don't have to leave the keyboard or break a sweat.

Propping Twins -- for single or twin power

Or think of this- It takes about 40 horsepower to push a 16 C-Dory to about 30 mph wide open. It takes about twice that horsepower (either single 75-90 or twin 40-50) to push the 22 C-Dory to about 30 mph. If you moved the prop from the 16 to one of the engines on the 22, it won't allow the...

Propping Twins -- for single or twin power

I'm trying to find a good analogy to help explain this, but it's really hard. Let's try this- Imagine you're riding a bike. ( I know we're in no shape for that, that's why we're imagining). You're going up a slight hill, and you've chosen a specific gear that allows your legs to move at the...

    Need Pricing Help, 16C

We had the 16 at the Seattle Boat Show in 2009 for $24,995 w/ 40 hp Suzuki and trailer. You've added some options, like spare tire, wipers, fish finder and safety equipment which would have been an additional $2000 or so. I would start at aroudn $21,000, and if that doesn't get activity on it...

    Seattle Boat Show 2013

Ihad a mild panic attack seeing the phrase "2013 Seattle Boat Show". I need to get through the summer before I can even think of the boat show!

    Secrets of Raymarine

For the best in long term support Furuno wins hands down. Their philosophy has been to be able to support the products they build for 10 years after they stop producing it.

    Insurance nightmare....please help!

I you haven't already done so, you need to instruct the insurance company that all communication must be in written form so ther there aren't any misunderstandings. It will work to your advantage becuse they can't deny any statements, or change their story later.

    Twin Suzuki 60s on CD22

I can give theoretical thoughts on the issue, but wondered if there was any real world experience. 8)

Hitting a Log with Yamaha 50hp

Modern outboards have a bypass valve that will allow them to kick up in the case of a strike. Some debris may not cause a hard enough hit to make the unit by pass. So, if the motor doesn't "pop up" you need to hit the log harder. Now go find something else to worry about, this one is...

    Twin Suzuki 60s on CD22

Since we're just spit balling ideas here- Has anybody got twin Yamaha High Thrust 50's for power? I'm wondering what the larger diameter props would do for performance? Or would any benefits be negated by the increased drag of larger lower units? The Evinude has the larger gearcase standard...

    Twin Suzuki 60s on CD22

At displacement speeds you'd be fine on one. You'll be running under 1500 RPM I imagine, so it shouldn't be an issue.

    Twin Suzuki 60s on CD22

Running one of the 60's may get the boat on plane, but by definition you would be lugging it. propped for twin application, the motor would not be able to get to the recomended WOT as it will be doing twice the work it normally does. In an emergency- fine. Normal use, run both engines.

    Twin Suzuki 60s on CD22

Most dealers will live with a 5% rule- 115 + 5% = 121 We have done twin E-Tec 60's on a 22. Same weight as the 40/50 so we felt okay with it. The 60 Suzi is lighter and a smoother at idle, so we would be willing to do it. The question becomes do you need it? Well, it's your money. It's about...

Does anybody know this Florida 23' Venture?

I think $75K would get you a well equipped 22, probably not a 23. Most brokers and dealers use Boat Trader or Yachtworld as their main marketing efforts because both are so well known. Having a website requiring a sign up is designed precisely to get your contact information. Unless there is...

New Port of Everett chief owns C-Dory...kinda

Te have been changes at Triton, and I don't beleive that Lindouts are involved anymore- at least not in daily operation. From what I've heard it sounds a bit confusing. If the factory is moving toward boat production only, that's proabbly a good sign.

    Mounting kicker at dock?

Not crazy- just cumbersome. The motor weighs 80+ pounds, so it takes two people (at least) to lift and set. Put a line on the motor- just in case.
