    GPS Evaluation

Currently have a Garmin 188C and am thinking of getting rid of it and getting a Lowrance.......... reasons: 1. Garmin is to costly and difficult (adding Blue Chart Regions) Last year when adding the Chesapeake Region I ended up losing the Florida Region and had to rebuy an updated version of...

    slip reservations?

I'm editing this because my first response was incorrect You need to sign up on the Event Signup, and need to contact the marina directly so you can leave a slip deposit.

Jim/Jennykatz...... just saw your private message regarding the Chesapeake Gathering next year. Yes we are planning on going and would be glad to have you join us. As I recall, it took us 3 or 4 days to drive up, I can't drive at night because of a vision problem. We had planned on sleeping on...

    ALONE IN CENTRAL FLORIDA?

Byrdman.... how did you do that sort by State.... when I tried, best I could get it to do was sort by "region", but that really gives you a sort by city if the member filled in his profile...

    ALONE IN CENTRAL FLORIDA?

and we're here in St Pete. Also there's a new member right near you in Edgewater/New Smyra Beach called CaptainRiver...... seems like we may have enough people for a gathering right here in Florida..... I'd bet we'd get some wannabe "snow birds"...........

    hopefully a new owner

jennykatz......Hope you get the boat.... Good Luck. As far as the chain rode goes, it would be ok on the ICW and close inshore, but for offshore it wouldn't work. We go grouper fishing in our 22C and go out about 50 miles to 100' +. When that deep, we have 350' 3/8 nylon and 25 feet of 3/8...

    Previous Member New C-Dory 22

Capt Mac........ Fran & I hauled our 22C up to the Chesapeake last year and plan on doing it again this year.... had a great time and it's a great place to cruise. Like the other's, on land the 22C is our "trailer" and we KOA it and when near water, we "boat" it. Look forward to seeing you.

    09/10/05 - Erie Canal

:sad Having gone thru the gas shortages of the 70's, I'm too old to risk getting stuck on the highway. I've been following things closely and it's going to get worst before it gets better. Our governer is already talking about rationing, etc and local newspapers in cities along the way report...

    09/10/05 - Erie Canal

Well, we're ready to cast off from St Pete for the land portion of this trip on Saturday moring, but quite frankly, I'm having some doubts because of the gas situation, both cost and availability. Just saw on TV that in the Atlanta area the price of regular exceeded $5 (YES FIVE DOLLARS) a...

Tom..... I think that's great and am marking my calender right now. This time rather then our heading up the coast to NJ, we plan on spending the entire time on the bay. A follow up cruise plan would be helpful

    09/10/05 - Erie Canal

OK, here's my 2 cents worth....... based on previous posts it looks like we'll meet at Seneca Lake State Park on the 10th and the canal cruise will start West Bound on the 12th....... OK... that's what I'm programed for. Also, it looks like it would be a short run by boat to Geneve for eats...

    09/10/05 - Erie Canal

Some of us traveling a distance and need to coordinate other arrangments and thus need to have a firm date and place. Based on past discussions, I thought Sept 12th was THE date but we still have a little wiggle room in our schedule on that. Next the place has to be firmed up; bear in mind...

    09/10/05 - Erie Canal

I think Bill & El are going to return for the canal cruise with some recommendations. My plan B is to have our friends drive with us in our Jeep to a launch site and then drive our Jeep & Trailer back to their place for storage. Then when it's time to pull out, I'll call them and they can tow...
