With massive sadness we must sell BRAND NEW 2021 Venture 23

Yeah, the Brat family is amazing. As I PM'd to Harvey.... Since I decided to keep the boat I feel better already. Even if I can't get it in the water much now it will be fun to tinker with:-) Appreciate the kind words. Steve "Panacea" is challenging me with upgrades already....:-) We'll be...

With massive sadness we must sell BRAND NEW 2021 Venture 23

After much debate and talking with the dealer and a few people interested in buying we have decided to keep our boat for now. We live 2 minutes from a lake so I will break here in this summer. We are 3 hours from Lake Tahoe. We are on a few wait list for SoCal dry storage and slip and my...

With massive sadness we must sell BRAND NEW 2021 Venture 23

I'm still trying to work an angle or two. Selling on C-Brats would be the best way to go but we are on a time crunch. I'm talking to the dealer Monday, ongoing. If we can't reach a suitable agreement I might just try C-Brats. Maybe someone would want to come out and look but we leave in a week...

With massive sadness we must sell BRAND NEW 2021 Venture 23

As of now I'm in talks with Master Marine mostly due to time constraints and the boat being here on San Juan Island in storage. If I can come to an agreement with MM we might do the deal but we will lose money. Tax is the hard part. Someone else will have to pay tax as well. We have so many...

With massive sadness we must sell BRAND NEW 2021 Venture 23

2021 C-Dory Venture 23 for sale soon. We've never had it in the water. She is band new. The manufacturer, NMI did a sea trail when the boat was completed. I have video of that. I'm just putting this out there right now. It may just go back to the dealer for consignment sale but we kinda hate to...

    Anyone using an auto pilot?

I was under the impression that AP was maybe not a common thing on a C-Dory, boy was I wrong. And I did do a search and read some of that info as well. Was curious as to whom might be using the Garmin system in particular. We'll probably do this season without it as we still have a canvas...

    Anyone using an auto pilot?

Thanks for the greta reply. Many more of you have AP's than I thought. I was basically talked out of it for SJI's and was also told the cheaper units are pretty bad. I won't disclose by whom:-) Not aBrat though. I will try our 23 out without this year but will most defiantly add one for next...

    Anyone using an auto pilot?

Just curious as to how many Brats are using an auto pilot. And where. And why? We're looking at the Garmin Reactor 40 Hydraulic Corepac for possibly later once everything opens up in Canada and beyond and if we use the boat in Southern CA sometime in the future and or Florida. I think the SJI...

    Bottom cleaning, San Juan Islands

We do plan on trailing a lot at some point in time. Interesting on certain paints being effected by the trailer. I have talked to one diver I've seen in Roche but I'd assume he'd be pricey. I do plan on getting in the water some myself. I know Tamy, I will ask her as well. Thanks for the heads...

    Bottom cleaning, San Juan Islands

If you happen to remember the magic number please let us know. We will have black bottom paint and the rest of the boat is white and gray, it would actually look pretty nice to have the black above the water line. I guess in an ideal world we'd gas up the boat and add in our gear and then put...

    Bottom cleaning, San Juan Islands

I was thinking 3 inches above water line but I think I'll go 4 inches as well. Dipper rash medicine, that's interesting:-) Have to look into that. Thanks so much for the tips. Kirk

One more - Steering wheel with spinner

Oh I like that one, the way it boils on is really clean. SOLD! Thanks guys so much, I can always count on C-Brats. Our new Venture 23 is almost done, they are a little behind at the factory right now, about 3 weeks. Hope we can pick her up mid May. Still waiting for the Suzuki kicker motor as...

One more - Steering wheel with spinner

Looks like a great idea. I see you can buy on that just bolts up or buy a new wheel. Anyone using one or the other and likes or dislikes? They look handy for docking etc... Kirk

    Bottom cleaning, San Juan Islands

We are also going to go a few inches at least above water line with our bottom paint, sounds like that really helps. I do plan on jumping in the cold water some in summer to do a little clean up myself and of course will try to brush at the dock as well. Looks like I need to invest in a gas...

    Bottom cleaning, San Juan Islands

We will have bottom paint so hope that helps. I might hire a diver or do it myself. But that seems pretty quick for growth, thanks so much for replying:-) Have a great summer, Kirk

    Bottom cleaning, San Juan Islands

Hello Brats. Curious if anyone leaves their C-Dory in the water all year or even part time and how often and whom you might recommend for bottom cleaning. Thanks, Kirk

    Wallas fails to start

Try using Clean Heat as your fuel source instead of diesel. Once you get it running again. Burns much cleaner. Heard it's the hot ticket. That's what we are going to start with in our new boat. I have no intention of using regular diesel fuel if I can help it:-) Good luck. Keep us posted.

Here we go again - Yamaha 9.9 verse Suzuki 9.9

But again, the engines and parts are not available for our build. Possibly the main but not a kicker. I'd rather have the EFi of the Suzuki and the timing chain. I've been told corrosion resistance is better on the Suzuki as well. It will be down on power compared to the 150 Yamaha. I was...
