Gunk under the cockpit rail, mildew

To add to what Brent said; I have seen strong bleach solutions react with certain plastics, turning them into a chalky, weak, brittle mess. I had to replace items on a previous boat because the previous owner had used straight bleach or to-strong bleach solutions, or didn't flush with water...

Gunk under the cockpit rail, mildew

The previous owner stored my boat on an outdoor rack in Florida. When I bought it it was a mildew infested mess. A cup of bleach in a gallon of water and a spray bottle will do the trick. Keep at it as the mildew will try to come back if left alone. Keep periodically respraying and it will...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

I am not sure if it is the influence of this forum or the aging process, but my KISS list is allowing more and more items that I once said I would never put on a boat. My Lewmar 700H just arrived today. Yes, an electric windlass that I once said I would avoid like the plague. Already did the...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Found a marvelous company, Carolina Laser, that makes 1" X 2" plastic labels at a great price. I removed all the original and embossed tape stickover tags on my helm station and replaced them with new labels. It came out beautifully. I would add a picture but I don't speak

Just pulled my records and your part number is the same as I use. My motor is a 2014 but I can't imagine they would have changed the gasket. SO916812012

    butane for butane stove

Yeah, the couplings are pretty common with campers, hunters and even boaters around here. I got my fitting at Harbor Freight but I see them at Farm Supply and RV stores. Works for me.

    butane for butane stove

Another option is to buy an adapter that allows you to refill the small canisters from a large bottle. Cheap way to go. Turn the large bottle upside down or you only get the gas from the top of the bottle. You want the liquid from the bottom of the source bottle or the recharge won't last...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Just know that these flat bottom boats are not the easiest to pilot into a slip or onto a trailer at slow speed. Between wind and current they seem to have a mind if their own. You'll get used to it.

Boat saved in St. Martin, Antilles

I have such a good time during the gatherings, sharing stories and adventure tales. I hope this is the appropriate place to share my story, and that more people take advantage of this area of the forum. The following is from one of my trips to the Caribbean: The previous day we had run under...
