The passing of a c-brat and friend.

Carol and I just took a trip down memory lane by viewing the photo album of the "Canadian Gulf Islands 2008" cruise in which Dee and Don were a part of. Every photo of Dee in that album shows her signature broad smile. We are saddened to hear this news. Don, our thoughts and prayers are with...

    Radar Interpretation

I've always interpreted the content of the Navigational Rules COMDTINST M16672.2SD the same as colobear. Aside from how an individual may interpret the rules, I consider the following: Even when in times of uninhibited visibility from weather, the design of our C-Dorys alone does not provide...

    "E-15" Warning !!!

Too bad the folks that legislate this crap won't be around to fuel their cars with this because they are about to fall over the cliff.....

lets keep c brats for fun things not world news of shootings

I just observed on another thread that Hoagie has apologized for initiating this thread. Hoagie, on my part, your apology is accepted although I'm not certain that an apology is needed. I understand that when an individual "moves" into a community, he isn't familiar with all the...

    Anchor Locker Drain

Thank you Sunbeam for your kind words about "Sea Shift". I totally agree with you about wanting to drain all of the water left in the bottom of the anchor locker and it sounds as if you have accomplished that. If I am understanding you correctly, I am interested that you indicate that there...

    Anchor Locker Drain

Sunbeam, more than likely the water intrusion was not so much from the anchor locker, but from the hole to the exterior of the vessel (under the clam shell). Any water entering there would go directly to the floor under the v-berth as there was no patent path from the anchor locker to the...

Thanks Joe for the prodding. I just signed up, but currently my plans are to commute to the activities from home.

CD-22 Anyone ever add a hot shower or marine head

When the factory was in Auburn, I remember seeing a new 22' that the factory was custom installing the head on the starboard rear corner of the cabin. Personally, I wouldn't choose to have a designated head in lieu of the standard features of a 22' (ie: galley, dinette, etc.) and am satisfied...

    16ft angler kicker location?

Just to continue this discussion. I realize that having the kicker on the starboard side is not the best for keeping the vessel level....especially, when at the helm and no one seated in the port seat, but one needs to consider the other reasons for having the kicker on the starboard side. My...

    16ft angler kicker location?

When I had my 16' Cruiser, I had a BF 8 mounted directly to the transom on the starboard side of my 50 HP Honda. It was connected by a tie rod to the 50 HP so I could steer from the helm. It proved to be an extremely functional set up. You can view pix of it in my photo album.

RIP- U.S. Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Terrell Horne III

This definitely brings home the realization to many that we have a war constantly ongoing on our coastlines. The news credits BMC Terrell Horne III with 38 lives saved in his CG career. What a tragedy to lose his life at the hands of those out to make a quick buck without regard for the lives...

    Unique model boat?

If that vessel was being transported towards Seattle, my guess would be that it will be on display at the Pacific Marine Expo (working boat show) that commenced today and will continue tomorrow and Thursday.

    A very special Thanksgiving

As a side note, for those of you that receive a ticket for speeding on these special holidays (or any day) from our law enforcement officers, be sure to THANK them, for doing their part to keep you safe! They don't get enough appreciation for the job they do! Thanks, Mark and your brothers and...

    A very special Thanksgiving

Great remembrance Rick, I never minded working the holidays because of instances with some similarities as you shared. It is a constant reminder that many have days much worse than we ever imagined and when we look at our patients we see our own children, spouses, siblings, parents etc. and...

    GEOLOGICAL HAZARDS IN OREGON

As we discuss natural/unnatural disasters....it is recommended that a contact person out of state be given to each family member so they can call that number if separated by disaster. Often times local numbers are not accessible but out-of-state (or out of the area) numbers are. Through this...
