Any specific issues with 22' Cruisers built in 2000?

I agree with what has been said above regarding the care and "storage" of a vessel over a period of time. Mine has been stored in an enclosed shop. When I have it out and folks see it, they ask if it is brand new....they say the same about the trailer....they have difficulty believing that...

    Novices looking for help

Jack, we purchased the Garelick Cockpit Steps from West Marine. The steps come with two mounting plates that you secure to the inside of the gunnel. The steps then slip into those and creates a very secure method of stepping into the cockpit from the gunnel. I know that there is at least one...

    A Poll

Polls regarding subjects such as preferred brand of outboard motor or singles vs twins end up being answered according to what the individual currently has on their vessel, as in most cases that is what the wanted in the first place. We all like to think that we've made the "best" choice. Most...

    Swim step load rating

With the latest Carnival mishaps, I would suggest he revisit his thoughts on that.

    No poll at the moment

Past polls have included preferences of outboard manufacturer, single vs twins (can you imagine that? ) and a number of other topics of interest. Actually, iif you click on Forums above then click on Poll Archives you can view the 30 polls that to date have been conducted.

    Florida trip bad ending

Lanlocked, Sad to hear of what occurred to your place in Florida and how it ruined what had been planned to be a great vacation. It is unfortunate how a few folks in today's society reek havoc on the rest of us. In looking at the "thread" that you just posted on the C-Brat Site entitled "3...

    Shore power

Hi Jake, If you google "The West Advisor Shore Power" you will see a 6 1/2 minute video prepared by West Marine that will give you tremendous insight as to what we are talking about. Hope this helps.....of course you could always drag your boat over to the Pacific Northwest and we could...

    simrad auto pilot

Roger, Today, I was thinking that I should give you and Patrick a call to see if you wanted to meet me at Leatherheads in Stanwood for Oysters and a Brewsky. (I guess in order to make this comment "on topic", I should add that after our visit to Leatherheads we could use his Simrad Auto...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Absolutely correct! We wear dry suits with layered water wicking undergarments, hoods, rescue helmets (not fire helmets), life vests, diving gloves and diving boots. Also have Hovercrafts as part of our "bag of tricks". Soon, I would suspect that we will again be in flooding situations...

Enlarging "chain locker" on a CD 16 Cruiser

This thread was interesting to me as well, as when I had my 1999 16' Cruiser there was no anchor locker in it. I was wondering if perhaps it was one that a previous owner had installed or if the factory had started including one in later years. The questions that I have is .....do you think...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Retirement is a tough situation for me as I miss the adrenaline rushes that have been a huge part of my life....so a year ago, I reinstated as a volunteer fireman at the Arlington Heights Fire Department, responding only on medical calls. However, the opportunity arose for me to reinstate into...

SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

I didn't do anything on our C-Dory today, but what I did do was swim down some Class III rapids today on the Skykomish River West of Index. So, if ever???? I cruise "Sea Shift" up to Index from Port Gardner Bay and I fall out of "Sea Shift", I know that I'll be good to go......

    FYI Coulon luanch fee waived

Too bad the parking meters in Seattle don't break. Had to use one a while back...thought the meter might spit out the deed to 2 acres of property in Arlington. (I didn't want to purchase the parking space...just wanted to borrow it for a few minutes).

    C-Dory 16 Cruiser

Stan, we loved our 16' Cruiser and cruised all over Puget Sound, the San Juan Islands, Lake Shasta, California, Lake Chelan in Eastern Washington, and several local lakes. However, it didn't take long for us to drool over owning a 22', which we purchased four years later and have found it to...

    Trailer winch: cable or strap?

Ditto, the above in quotes is exactly what I do. As far as any stretch involved.....so far that has never been an issue on either my 16' Cruiser Boat/Trailer set up or my 22'. At any rate, I always pull to the side of the road after I've towed the first few miles and do a total "walk...

    Trailer winch: cable or strap?

Strap...works great and no danger of ever getting little itty bitty wires stuck in your hands....

Seeking input on trailer side guides

BTW Sunbeam, your information in the left margin doesn't indicate where you live. If you live nearby, you are welcome to come over and try the side guides for ingress and egress and see how sturdy they are without additional reinforcement.

Seeking input on trailer side guides

P.S. After I manhandle the boat into the centering position I mentioned above, the "tough crowd" leave the tie down area......

Seeking input on trailer side guides

I have side guides on my roller trailer without any additional reinforcement. (See pix in my album). They are not an obstacle at all in accessing the boat from the fenders....that is the only way I ingress and egress the vessel while it is on the trailer. I would never have the trailer set up...
