    Starlink mini mount issues

I just received the Starlink Mini I purchased, and was kind of wondering the same thing. Although I'll just use it on my 25 while at anchor or at the dock. I did put a rod holder on a roof handrail, and plan to use the pole mount up there. Or, if the bimini doesn't bother the Starlink, I've...

Emergency Medical Insurance for Canada cruising

Hi Jay, One of those special circumstances with Medicare, is coverage in Canada, if you are on a direct routing between Alaska and the lower 48, without delay. There is one gal on the FB Inside Passage group page saying they did use a Canadian hospital, and filed for reimbursement with...

Emergency Medical Insurance for Canada cruising

Bob, I appreciate your sharing of that information. At this time, I'm pretty much leaning on an IMG plan that has a coverage for both medical and medevac up to $1,000,000. Emails with an IMG salesman indicates that a medevac off a recreational boat would be covered, but IMG would have to be...

Emergency Medical Insurance for Canada cruising

I reread my earlier GeoBlue policy, and not sure the gal telling me they never covered a medevac off a watercraft was correct, as I saw no exclusions for this, and knowing me, I more than likely asked at the time if it was covered. Rereading the policy sure makes it sound like it would have been...

Emergency Medical Insurance for Canada cruising

According to the last email I received from GeoBlue, they have never covered medevac from a boat. That kind of pisses me off considering that is why I bought coverage from them for that Princess Louisa trip I was on a few years back. When I read "Evacuation" I would think that would include...

Emergency Medical Insurance for Canada cruising

Time to revive this thread. In preparation for a two month trip along the British Columbia Coast, I was about ready to purchase another GeoBlue policy, until I looked closer at the small print of exclusions. Specifically, they DO NOT cover evacuation from any kind of ship or watercraft...

Cell Service west coast of British Columbia

Thanks. I'll probably stick to that routing I posted above then. Towing the 25 isn't much different than towing the 22. (Except when pulling into parking lots. It seems to find the curbs easier. lol!) I'll assume the snow will be cleared by Independence Day. :) Interested in Geology? My...

So if you were to recommend one route to take, which would it be? Preferably without adding very many additional miles? Remember, I'll be on the go home leg. lol. I'll add, I've never been on any of those roads. So they'll all be new territory for me. Colby

    Cockpit Chairs? Yeti$$$?

We just use heavy duty camping chairs, that fold up and fit in a bag. Comfortable and compact.

Thanks. That's good to hear, on both routing and Starlink. I'm ok with 2 lane roads. I don't travel max posted speeds on the interstate anyway, and find that sometimes it doesn't always take that much longer skipping the interstate, and city traffic! :)

Cell Service west coast of British Columbia

Coming home from Blaine, after our PNW trip, in July, I'm looking at a different routing than I usually do, to steer clear of Seattle. Has anyone ever driven, or are familiar with, Hwy 20 to Twisp, then 153 to Patros, then 17 and 174 across Coulee to 2 and into Spokane? Do you recommend any...

I’m looking into the license as I would like to take my crab pot and ring along! 😊 I decided to purchase the Mini and should get it this week, I’ll get the $50 plan and see how it goes. I ordered the roof rack mount as well and look at mounting it on one of the rails (bow, roof or cockpit). Or...

Cell Service west coast of British Columbia

Hi John, Our Verizon plan includes both Mexico and Canada, so no additional charges in those countries. I would assume that your nightly stops on your cruise was at cities that would have cell service. Still you only had it every third stop, and I'm assuming you stopped every day. I think a...

Cell Service west coast of British Columbia

During May and June, I will be cruising with two other boats along the west coast of British Columbia. (Not on the ocean side of Vancouver Island.) Plan to launch in Blaine, and then possibly go as far as Prince Rupert, and visiting some of the many inlets in between. I hate to get Starlink for...

    Dale Hollow Lake

Bill on Mystery Girl, Mike on Little Joe, and myself on C-Traveler, have been exploring Dale Hollow Lake by circumventing the entire lake shore. We made it through a bad hail storm, a nasty thunderstorm, and even cruised a day in snow squalls and showers! For the story, see my blog at...

    Canvas

That's rediculous if you meant to include 4 zeros. When I had mine built for my 25, about 5 years ago, with three bows, it was about $1,000. One less zero. And was made out of Sunbrella. Of course that was just the bimini, no sides or back. I had one done for my 22 about 14 years ago,and...
