    A new C-Ranger

    Honda Repair Seattle Area

I used Bayside Marine for one of the checkups on Two Lucky Fish. I know they do Johnson motors, don't know if they do Hondas. The work seemed OK, but they did leave out one of the screws for the cover when they reassembled. I'd probably go back if needed, but really preferred to use EQ up in...

    A new C-Ranger

Hi PenguinPA- We also bought our boat from LUSR in Fife. I'd agree that most of the people at LUSR do not know much about the boat - they are on the learning curve. Our salesman was Jack Krona. Ranger has been also on a learning curve on the 25 - making improvements on every boat as they go. I...

How often do you run your boat Wide Open Throttle (WOT)?

According to the Yanmar manual for the 4JH4-HTE (turbo, intercooled 110 hp - the engine I have), they recommend running WOT for 5 minutes out of every hour during the first 50 hours. After that, they say the engine is designed to run no more than 5% (30 minutes out of every 10 hours) at WOT...

So What Did You Do On or With Your Ranger Tug Today?

Spent part of yesterday upgrading the shelving on Island Ranger. Bought some trim, a soap dispenser holder, a utensil holder and a magazine rack, and mounted them in the galley area. I think it came out great! Pictures? Still trying to put them here, but otherwise they are in our album under...

Dinghy Options for the Ranger 25?

I didn't measure the Pudgy, but Tony says it needs the long shaft. There is an option on the pudgy for a short shaft mount, but it reduces the "life saving capacity" from 4 to 2 I think. I was planning to go with long shaft (20 in) - which eliminates all 2 & 2.5 motors except the noisy Honda. I...

    C-RANGER 25 TUG

Sorry Pat - been a little busy and haven't had time to post a decent response. I too really wanted some info before committing, but... We now have 38 hours on Island Ranger. Running the 110 Yanmar at 70-80% power, the recommended cruising speed, we get ~10-12 kts. Wide open throttle is 14-15...

Dinghy Options for the Ranger 25?

Still looking at motors. The recommendation is the 2 hp Honda air cooled, but I thought it might be too noisy. Love the weight though. And it's tough to find another long shaft light motor. We will probably go with the Honda.... Mac

    Teak Finishing

We finished the inside teak just with teak oil. Took a couple of hours, but looks great. Since it is inside, should last for a while. The floor is finished from the Factory with eurothane Mac
