Honda outboards for life, they've only ever made 4 stroke outboards, and I would bet the r&d department has A LOT more money to play with. Just my thoughts

I'm $23,000 into my 1986 angler but that's with a BRAND NEW 2019 Honda 90 installed with hydro steer and new lowrance hds7 live. 23k is a good deal for that boat assuming the motor has a built of life left in it. Does the boat come with any kind of camper top?

Does this motor use a thermostat? I had merc 2 stroke 8 hp that wouldnt pee until the thermostat opened. Did you put the key back on the shaft? Could have fell out OR the rubber impeller broke loose from its hub and is just spinning on itself, I've had that happen to

There shouldn't be any fiberglass work involved, my bulkheads just bolted to the 6" high crossmember. Mines an 86 dont know if an 82 was much different. Should be as simple as cutting a new piece out of a veneered plywood and installing it. Can you post a pic of the damage?

The wood on the bulkhead is rotted? I'd just pull it apart trace the piece put and cut a new piece out of the wood or star board of your choice
